  1. TL, Please post some pictures of them when you receive. Especially once they have been in stalled. I am very curious about them as well. Want to see what they look like and get some user comments.
  2. I tried just plugging my IPOD in with the existing USB cable. It was recognized and the songs all loaded in. I can listen and play and control it from the stereo. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is Playlists. I only have one, but it does not show up. Will adding the phono to phono plug help that? The only other thing is the IPOD always says "Do Not Disconnect" like it is trying to sync up. I will try a phono to phono plug to see what that does. Clayton
  3. I have a 4th generation IPOD with click wheel and the syncmyride website indicates that I need a USB+AUX cable to connect the unit and have it function properly. The have a link to keyspan.com for model UC25. Is there any other manufacturers that make a compatible cable Belkin, Monster, Apple? I am hoping to be able to go purchase one as opposed to ordering one online. Any information that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. Clayton
  4. Anyone have a checklist for purchasing a new car? One that is specific to the MKX/Edge would be even better. I just want to make sure I check over everything before driving it off the lot. Clayton
  5. Anyone have any idea on this? Going to be pickingup my MKX tomorrow and want to make sure they are there if they should be. Clayton
  6. Sorry about the mix up with steel, I meant to say aluminum. I also know that they are not a hubcap and can't be removed, just not sure how to refer to them. I am in no way downplaying the 20" wheels. I like them both on the MKX. I also looked at the Edge and liked the 20" wheels better than the 18's. On the MKX I like both the 18" and 20" designs, it makes deciding very difficult. I know the 18" wheels are "Chrome Clad" on the Edge but was not sure if that was the case on the MKX. I have seen quite a few posts about the Chrome Clad and some of the problems that they are having. It seems like it might be more 07's and early 08's that are having these problems. Also seem to be more Edge owners talking about it. Not sure how it is effecting the MKX's? I guess I will need to take a good look at both of them once again before I make my decision. Clayton
  7. Looking at the Lincoln MKX and trying to decide between the 18" and 20" wheels. I noticed that the 18" wheels are listed in the brochure and on the sticker as "Machined Aluminum" which makes me think they are all one piece. As opposed to the 20" Chrome Clad Aluminum which I know are steel wheels with the Chrome Clad hubcap. Can someone that is familiar with these 18" wheels verify that they are one piece? Anyone have them that can describe their experiences with them? How are they lasting, upkeep, cleaning, etc. There has been a lot of talk about the 20's but have not seen much on these. Clayton
  8. I have averaged about 15,000 a year on my current car. Now I do expect that to be less on this car due to less commute miles, but will be at least 12,000 a year. That is one of the reasons I am leaning to the MKX over the Edge, better warranty. Bumper to bumper 4yr/50K, Powertrain 6yr/70K. I tend to keep my vehicles for a while, just started my 8th year on current SUV. I am not as really concerned that it has 400 miles on it as far as the warranty is concerned that is a tiny amount. My bigger concern is that they are test drive miles and you never know what those are like. Now being that it's a Lincoln MKX and not a Ford SVT Mustang, my bet is that they are pretty tame. I am looking at one from a dealer about 10 miles away that will have about 400 miles on it when delivered. It has 240 on it and will need to be driven from another lot which is about 150 miles away. There is a similar model on another dealers lot about 19 miles away, that only has 21 miles on it. The down side is that dealer is further away to take it in for service and washing. Clayton
  9. Does existing mileage on a new car count against the warranty mileage allowance or does the amount get applied to the end of the warranty? Example: If I buy a new car with 400 miles on it, does that become the starting mileage and my warranty is added on to that? I get 3yr/36,400 miles or or does it stay the same 3yr/36,000 regardless of what is on there? Clayton
  10. Do the wheels need to be removed to install these? Anyone know what the dealer charges to install? Not sure I want to drill holes in my car. Clayton
  11. Just curious, what wheels do you have 18" or 20"? Also what tires do you have? Clayton
  12. Any chance on getting some pictures of your "Heat Shield"? Like to see outside looking in and also from the inside. Clayton
  13. I have been looking at the 08 MKX, and have seen the rubber inserts for the cupholders in the center console in a bag, but have not seen the rubber inserts for the doors? I know sometimes they are in the glove compartment, but haven't seen them there either. Can someone verify that the MKX should also have the door inserts? Clayton
  14. A little too much wood for my liking, but of course you don't have to install every piece in the kit. I would be selective, a piece here and there. Clayton
  15. What is meant then by "Standalone"? Seems like that would imply that they are seperate? Clayton
