[Thanks but i am all set with the pics. I spent this week after work cutting apart the new hitch. first time I spent over $100 just to cut it apart ha ha. Looks good so far got it cut apart and rewelded very similar to you version. Left out the anti rattle (live in the NE would only rot solid by next summer) and i can deal with some wobble. Will post pics this week before undercoating it. I think I will be rhino lining it due to the nasty weather here and the bare metal. Hope it all goes well on install need it by mid July. Does help I have a full garage and lifts at my disposal, props to you for doing it on the ground!

Love this so much I just started to cut a hitch apart to make my own version!! One question for you though. how did you take care of the central bumper hold down that mounts to the underside of the floor boards right where the hitch ends up? THANKS hope mine looks just as good when finnished.

Has anyone on here installed the in channel vent visors? if so do the work well? do they allow the auto up feature of the window to function or do they get in the way? if you did install which brand would you recomend? I have done some research and most reviews are good for the in channel systems however there are also the bad and very few about how they fit on the edge. they look slick installed and all my other cars have had stick on ones. Just dont want to waste $60 on something that wont work Thanks in advance, Ford convert in NY

Hey thanks, I know that the edge cannot tow the 5000# that a class 3 provides. I just bout the edge and am moving from a V8 grand cherokee and have all the towing parafanialia that a 2" reciever provides. I only have a small utility trailer that i tow for camping to carry equipment and pack racks and bike racks which are all 2". I know there are aftermaket recievers but they exit so low under the bumper and I like that the factory hitch is higher and comes out the bumper. I know that a Class 3 2" reciever is available for the 2011 and looks nice installed so just thinking if it is applicable to the ealier models.

Did that the other day everything is tight and hasnt cut out in the last several days. I am wondering if it was just the nasty weather we have been having or maybe some water somewhere it shouldnt have been. willl have to wait and see.

Does any one out there know if the factory 2" Class III hitch that is available as a factory or add on option on the 2011 can be used on erlier models (2008 specifically)????

I recently purchased a used 2008 Edge and I LOVE it!! Just dont tell my employer (mopar). Anyway I love the sirius and just started my account and am noticing that with the A/C on the signal cuts out (almost like a CD skip) every so often. With the A/C off there is no issue and reception is flawless. Is this normal?? I know chrysler has several updates to software for satallite cut out problems. Any thoughts on the matter from more seasoned Ford owners??? Thanks in advance.
