  1. ya i guess the more i drive my Sport, the more I realize how much i like the stock rims.. and i also realize that power isnt an issue. I only have 380 miles on it so far, but i did a quick test up to 90-100 for a few seconds on a private track and it goes just fine. i'm very pleased with my decision to spring for this better engine. the mileage is another issue, which i may just accept in order to keep lookin good.

i ordered Weathertech window deflectors yesterday, so i'll add those in a week. they look especially good on white cars with the dark contrast. i got the darker tint version. no tape on the weathertechs, they slide into the channel. i had multiple sets on my jeeps.

  2. To be fair, a normal funnel will work.

I had to fill my gas tank to use up this spare fuel I had lying around. Although the tank's spout was too short, a normal funnel did the job. I was originally considering a locking insert too, but someone would have to be carrying around a funnel to put something in your tank. I don't think I have to worry about that.

damn... i still havent opened my package.. lol. i guess given its rep around here i prob wont be able to sell it anyway. i wouldnt mind using it, i just dont want to have to carry around a key all the time..

  3. The OEM black mats were installed in my 2008 Edge by the dealer when I had the 1500 mile checkup performed.. Within 3 years, my right heal had pressed a hole into the mat an inch or so from the a point under the gas pedal. When I pull the mat out of the car and hold it up, I can see sky through the hole. Called Ford and was told they were a "wear" item and no warranty applied except for the standard one year. I hope for everyone's sake that the 2011 mats are higher quality.

lol.. so youre complaining they wore out in 3 years? did you expect them to last 10? i'd replace them every couple years if i had to. not like theyre expensive.

  4. Floor mats are a good fit, came with the proper double peg design, but even better. There is a cap over the top to smooth out the look. The trunk mat is perfect, it will sit flatter with time. Really impressed with the bumper protector, its not thick plastic, its heavy material, much like my GTI sill protectors were. Its a pure stick on, and it aint coming off once you get your final layout. I had to lift both sides once or twice and work out the air pockets from the middle. It was REAL hard to pull up, but didnt hurt the paint or anything. Make sure you use alcohol on the area before sticking.

  5. Something is wrong with the search btw.. i searched "fog" in titles only and zero threads came up.

Instead of cluttering up the forum with a similar thread.. i got a dumb question about the "fogs".

Are they fogs? Or just driving lamps? I have even been thru my owners manual, and I can't find anything that tells me how to turn on the "fog lamps". The obvious answer is no switch exists, but i want to make sure.

Also, how do i know if I have the "auto" headlights feature. I can turn my headlamp switch to it, but how do i know if its working? (in daytime). Would it have been a separate option on my window sticker? Maybe i just don't have it, because I have a Sport.

  6. When you say the body panels are not consistent, what do you mean specifically?

it pretty obvious to me, coming from German cars.. the back of the rear doors doesnt match well to the rear body lines. but its what you expect from American. It aint German quality, although its a lot better than it used to be.

  7. that doesn't look half bad dude. but your rims have the chrome ring which makes a big difference. I have had those window deflectors on my Jeeps, and loved them. Wasnt sure if they would wreck the look on an Edge. I can see now that they look pretty good, so i might buy those too..

to tell you the truth, i also like your step bar, where and how much? i might go black instead of chrome, but i dont want people stepping on my body kit..

    nice Edge!

i really need to see a SPORT with black rims to get a better idea. I'll keep searching..

  8. I do like the 22" rims.. They are baller, especially to a guy like me who never liked big rims. But I'm not married to them, and I think I could gain noticable power and 2-3mpg improvement if i went to lighter weight 20's.

I've always had a thing for the KMC Rockstars, which are very popular on the JK Jeeps. (2007-present, I have had 2 of these Jeeps) These rims are only >>>> Weight: 27.6lbs. <<<<<<

I wish there was some way I could see if they look any good on my car? I don't really have a good side shot of my car yet for a good photoshop.

I guess I would have to buy the rims, tires, TMPS kit, and a TPMS reset tool.. It would probably run my $2000 all in all.. So thats a lot of money to spend if I dont know if it will look any good. I am not a chrome grill type of guy, hence why i got the Sport trim. I really like my black grill. (But I also got it for the non-wood dash and shift paddles, and two tone leather seats..)

IF I were to sell my 22" Sport rims/tires/TPMS for pickup only, think i'd have any chance of getting $2000 for the kit? They have 400 miles on them so far, brand new.

Thanks for any tips, i dont want to make the mistake of getting rid of these and regretting it later, but I wouldnt mind even more power and slightly better mileage.

  9. I believe it has an anti-syphon design in the filler neck so the only thing to worry about is someone putting something IN the gas tank that shouldn't be there.

You yourself right above said someone CAN put something in the tank. Which is the correct fact? Oh, thats a 2008 fact.. lol. Did the gas cap style change for 2011?

  10. I wanted an interesting vehicle. I test drove the LTD and the Sport. The LTD was just way too boring for me, a real basic family car. (with some sweet options). The Sport was just a completely different car for me, something nice to look at. I would have regretted it forever if i had "settled" for the LTD. I may even swap down to 20" rims eventually, there are a few i like which i have seen on the Jeeps. I dont know if the difference in weight between 22" to 20" is even worth swapping tho.
