  1. Did you ever decide on what you were going to do? I am at the same point, I have the rotors chosen, EBC E35GD7069 "EBC 3GD SPORT SLOTTED AND DIMPLED BRAKE DISCS, VENTED, BLACK ZINC, SET OF 2 -- 4 x 108 mm bolt hole pattern; 10.9 in. diameter; Features dimple drilled holes to eliminate rotor cracking, wide aperture slots that keep pads and rotors cooler, full width"

but I just cant decide on the pads, I was thinking green stuff, but now I am thinking maybe red, but I don't want horrible brake dust, and I am thinking thats whats going to happen.

  4. If you do any power upgrades don't forget that stopping and turning upgrades are considered performance upgrades.

The edge has a reputation for NOT stopping very well so a brake upgrade should be considered, I saw a sway bar mentioned in another thread, and research has begun.

$4100 is the estimate (if the heads are still ok) I have from a local performance shop, it includes ARP studs.

Lets DON'T  get in a discussion about why I still have 53K miles on my 6.0 factory warranty and you do not. :beerchug:

    ab

have plenty of mileage left on my warranty bud.. no worries on that..ARP studs, o rung heads full EGR delete 190 sticks..etc,etc..all done under warranty.

  5. I would get an SCT but I would be tempted to use it on my F250 and THAT IS A DEFINITE NO NO!!

why is that a definite no no? I run a custom tuned SCT on my 350..are you scared of headgaskets?

if you are looking for seat of the pants..get the SCT..there are several tuners..Fred is one..Tony is another also you have Eric @ Innovative that is writing some bad ass files.

    I love my SCT.

  6. Hi, I'm new here. just traded of my 04 big V8 dodge ram 1500 for an 08 Edge SE. I must say, I'm very impressed. I'm a MOPAR guy at heart and always will be, but I never thought I would own a Ford, but this CUV is AWESOME!. I needed something more family friendly. I have my first child coming in July. I'm glad there are other happy owners out there. P.S.......the SYNC is the best feature ever!!!!!!!!! :happy feet:

welcome..sweet ride..post up some pics. Where you at in Florida?

  7. I went about 20 miles past "O till empty"

Crossed my fingers the whol time until I got to a gas station, even then it too about 17 gallons.

It usually reads about 387 miles until empty at fiilup but one time I squeezed a few more dollars into it after it popped off.

At that point, it read 404 miles until empty.

Of course, that changes as you drive, calculating less miles to go. . . . .

The gas nozzle ALWAYS pops off too early and take a few more dollars.

I went 12 past '0 Miles to Empty' and then made it to a gas station.

I look more at the needle than the computer.

    thank you..

I always fill up all the way to the brim..where it wont take anymore..

  8.

This is the 2nd time inside of 5 months I have been rear ended....

    Edge is holding up well...

On a side note... a lot of posters use this forum about the little things they don't like about their Edges - the quirks and not so perfect things...

But as someone who has been rear ended twice - the Edge holds up extremely well. The Honda Civic that hit me (who was hit by an Audi A4) crumpled up under neath my Edge bumper. The exhaust is bent, reverse sensing busted and god knows what else.

I barely felt it - a little "funny" feeling in my back - but nothing too serious yet.

As you can see with the attached pics - damage does not look so bad.. I figure its over $2500 with the bent exhaust. Just to do the bumper covers last time cost insurance $1600.

Yes - the Edge may have its quirks - but its an extremely safe vehicle.. after looking at that crumpled Civic - I am grateful I am driving a well constructed heavy vehicle.

So the next time you think - "damn why didnt they light those buttons" - or "the NAV does not have enough POIs" - be thankful you have not been in accident.. but if you ever are ... the Edge is safe vehicle.

PS - the cardboard under the tire is to catch any antifreeze that happens to drip out of the bumper. The Civic 's antifreeze went everywhere when it hit.

I have a full stock cat back exhaust..if you or your insurance company are interested..dunno what it would cost to ship..but i am sure that it would be cheaper then a new one from ford.

sorry to hear about you persistent misfortune with careless drivers..but glad to see the edge is holding up well.

  9. No limit, I have one for my 06 Mustang and have installed the tune many times and the tuner still reads 5 to go. At least that's with Brenspeed's tunes. I don't believe Brenspeed does Edges yet.

    true..there is no limit.

here is how it works on my 6.0 Diesel

The SCT is one of the tuners that dont leave 'footprints' like lets say, BANK'S,EDGE or BULLY DOG will..they are very traceable.. so out of the 4..the SCT leaves the 'smallest' footprint in the PCM..and there are only a few people who are tech that are trained on how to find them..Thats just not what Ford trains there tech to look for..

Like was said above..unless you bring your edge in with a blown motor..you aren't gonna have a problem.

And professionally written tune will NOT ..I repeat will NOT blow your motor. UNLESS you have made adjustments after the fact.

  10. I have an 07 edge with about 5600 miles on it.

When I filled it up the gas gage always indicates full + 1 needle width.

Today I filled it and the needle went to between 3/4 and full.

Miles to empty was 245 (usually it's about 335).

I went home and topped it off with fresh fuel from a 5 gallon container.

(filled it until I could see fuel in the filler neck)

Gas gage is still between 3/4/ and full.

    Anyone else have this issue?

Last week I had my + $750 rims replaced because they didn't stand up to 2/3 of a winter.

Now... One week later my gas gage is acting up.

    Hmmm...

hmm..I think you got a lemon.
