Thanks! Too bad I need a car now and AWD Silver Sports are difficult to find in Atlanta. I know there is one at Jim Tidwell Ford in Kennesaw, but they refuse to trade with any dealers.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The dealer would not do anything about the rims and after looking at the rims in the sun, it looks worse than last night. Ultimately, I walked away from the deal. What a disappointment too.

MOG Ford

I recently purchased an Edge Sport AWD 10 days ago and the dealer stated they could obtain the vehicle from another local Ford dealer and that it should take 2 days max to get. After two days, I didn't hear anything and they stated the other dealer refused to trade the car. Long story short, the dealer found another Sport in Ohio, I live in Atlanta. I briefly inspected the car tonight (pick up tomorrow). It was built in January 2011 and has 175 miles on it. I am concerned that the car has sat around for 5 months now. The biggest issue right now is that the chrome has fine swirl marks on them. It looks like someone dried the rims with the wrong material, leaving behind scratches and swirl marks. The salesperson tried to play it off by stating that his chrome wheels look like that too. Is this easily fixed? I can confirm the dealer updated the software to v. 2.8. I told him the rims will be a big issue and did not get a good feeling like the dealer was going to fix it. Is there anything else I should look out for? Does the Sport package include wheel locks? After reading about all the horrors with MFT and other issues, I am tempted to just walk away. Thanks!

I have been looking at an Edge Sport AWD v. Highlander Limited AWD, both pretty much fully loaded. The MSRP for the Edge is 42885 and the Highlander is 41538. I haven't really pushed the negotiation, but the best I have so far for the sport is $39200 plus 3000 (rebates) = $36,200. The best Highlander price comes out to 35,800. Anyways, just wanted to know if this looks like a good deal and any objective insight into picking the Edge v. Highlander. I have owned Fords in the past and a couple of Lexus(s). I am just leery of the longevity/reliability of the Edge as I keep my cars beyond 200k miles. Thanks!
