This looks exactly like the cargo net for the Navigator (well, at least the 2000/2001 models). It hooked onto the four of those rounded hooks right at the back of the cargo area by rear gate. It was nice when you opened the window (not the entire gate) as you could put small items in the net. It's a pain when you want to put larger items in the full bay as you have to take it off. In our original car, the net frayed and was useless after about 2 years. Our later one it's lasted for five or six now without issue but it's not a great item. For the Edge, it's a lot less useful as it's always in the way instead of being easily reachable through the window.

I'm glad the 08 Edge I just bought didn't have a sun roof. I had this same problem with a 2001 Navigator we bought used. Driving it home we played with the sunroof and it broke on us. Dealer had to completely replace it. Good to know about possible transmission issues though with the 08 AWDs. I'll have to keep an eye on it. I do see from other posts the most of the AC/fan issues are due to the cabin filter behind the glove box. Mine appears to be starting to have an issue so I need to check on it.

I just bought a new 08 Edge this month that looked to be a lease return. The only thing that my mechanic found that was an issue was the battery. He had to scrape the terminals and get rid of the corrosion. Luckily, the battery itself was fine and just needed some cleaning. I expect, had I not had it checked out, I would have ended up in the same position you were in.

It's pretty simple. Probably not much extra from the base SEL package. Has leather seats and I'm happy to have the power windows/locks/seats compared with my Focus (which has nothing) and the Sync system/stereo isn't bad. Certainly won't just replace it out of hand yet. Time to start customizing myself. Just had my mechanic check it out and gave it a thumbs up.

Just bought a 2008 Edge SEL, dark blue. My son finally needed to use our Focus full time (school + work) and we needed another car for me. I found this looking around and got it at a good price. I would have loved a new '11 but the price was just too much right now (maybe I'll trade in a couple a years). Love it so far. Nice room, good power and drives nice. Fits nicely between our Focus (son's) and Navigator (wife's). Just want to say Hi to everyone here. Will Redmond, WA
