  1. It's been about a month or so for me since I updated to ver 3.02. I was one of the lucky ones who had basically no issues with ver 2.11 so I was VERY hesitant to do the upgrade. I had a minor glitch with the install but it seems to be working ok, but since I didn't have any of the lag/freezing, etc with 2.11 I don't see any improvement in performance. It actually seems to me that there is more of a lag now between the time when I start the car and when the radio becomes available. The newer graphics are nice but not game-changing. It does seem to index my ipod Touch faster than before. I finally had some time the other day to really play around with some of the settings when I noticed that you can have the date displayed in the top middle instead of the time. This made me wonder why they didn't incorporate the outside temp into that option as well? Why just remove it altogether? I know it's in the driver's right screen (so is the time BTW), but the font is small and in a gray color so when I am wearing sunglasses I have to actually pull them up to read the temp. I thought one of the great things about MFT was how customizable it is! They should have made it an option to have the time, temp, time/temp, time/temp/date/, time/date, etc.....just my two cents. I hope Ford has taken note of how many of us miss the outside temp and at least give us the option to include it or not.
  2. Thanks FPJim.....I actually found another post that mentioned the master reset with a re-install. I went ahead and did that although, at first it looked like an epic fail as when I put the USB back in, it started to install file 1/3 but then the Ford logo came up and the screen went black. I took the USB out, turned off the car, turned it back on and waited for the screen to come back up (which THANKFULLY it did!). Then I re-inserted the USB, waited while it installed the remaining files and I finally got the Installation OK prompt. I ran another vehicle healt report thinking the Sync update would show additional files installed but it didn't. However, since I did get the installation OK prompt, and everything seems to be working, I feel more comfortable that the install was indeed successful. Thanks!
  3. So I posted earlier about how I was on MFT ver 2.11 and had no real issues. Got the update yesterday, finally bit the bullet and installed this morning with much trepidation. Left the car running in the driveway, followed the simple instructions, came back after about 45 minutes to a message saying "Installation Failure....either not enough memory or software not compatible with this version". So I pressed "OK"...however, the update seemed to have worked as my screens are all updated, I was able to re-sync my phone, and everything seems to be working, including Nav. Here is what syncmyride says about the install: Confirmed Installations SYNC Version Gen2 - V3.0.2 BT4T-14D546-AM BT4T-14D546-AP SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F496-AP BT4T-14F496-AS SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F497-AM BT4T-14F497-AP SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F500-BE BT4T-14F603-AM BT4T-14F603-AP Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone tell me what, if anything, did not actually get installed that I might be missing? Thanks.
  4. I am also in SW Florida and was excited to hear that my package had arrived!!! I never really had all the nasty issues with MFT that have been discussed here so I was a little hesitant about applying the update.....and now even more so after reading this!! I have a 2011 Edge Sport FWD with ver. 2.11....I'll post an update when/if I install the update......
  5. Waldo.... I guess you can say it's been cooler lately as the high temp is barely hitting 90 now as opposed to 95 when I bought the car 3 weeks ago... :-). I'll monitor the pressure weekly and see how long they stay around 35psi. Just to answer another point made by another member above, I did not use a cheap gauge so I'm pretty confident in my initial readings. Again, thanks to all for the feedback and very interesting commentaries!
  6. Just checked my tires and all four were below 30psi. Seems like the dealership never checked it before I picked it up. Either that or they are losing pressure REAL fast, even with the nitrogen. Anyway, I brought them all up to 35psi so we'll see how long that lasts. Thanks for all the input.
  7. Thanks for the (sarcastic & patronizing) response. I actually do know how to use a tire pressure gauge, but when the warning light comes on while I am driving down the interstate at 75mph it would be nice to have more info (which tire is low and what the pressure is) so that I know if I ran something over, have a slow leak, and if one of my front tires might be compromised to the point where I should slow down and get to the nearest gas station or garage to get air in it. It actually looks like there is an issue with the 22's holding pressure so I guess I'll have to keep an eye on them. Thanks for the info on the nitrogen too. I'm glad to know I am not being remiss with the care of my wheels.
  8. ok, so I've had my 2011 Edge Sport for almost 3 weeks now and this morning I got a low tire pressure warning. Can someone tell me how to find out which tire is low ? The warning does not specify. Also, my dealership was trying to sell me nitrogen for life for my tires for $80. Sice they are not around the corner from me I did not buy this option (yet). I can't seem to find any compelling evidence that nitrogen is so much better than air for the average driver but with the 22" Pirelli's I want to make sure I do everything possible to make them last as long as they can. Does anyone use strictly nitrogen for their tires? It didn't seem to stop my brand new tires from losing pressure, unless I have a nail or something. Thanks.
  9. After weeks of research, phone calls, haggling, etc....it looks like this is it!! I'm getting a 2011 Sport FWD in Kona Blue equipped as follows 22 in wheels (standard) Cargo accessory package Front license plate bracket All weather mats Driver entry package backlit doorsills Vista roof voice activated navigation Total MSRP $41,180 market discount (3,191) rebates (2,000) selling price $35,989 (plus TTL of course) How did I do??? :happy feet: also, do I insist on having MFT upgraded to ver 2.11 before I take delivery or do I wait for the problems to arise? Not sure what version it has now.
  10. Thanks for the info. Doesn't seem worth $300 to me.
  11. Can someone who has the backlit doorsills tell me if it was worth it? Are they integrated with the ambient lighting or a totally seperate feature? What do they do exactly? Can they be added after-market? Thanks!
  12. i've actually found a 2011 Edge Sport in Kona blue without the Nav so I think I'm going to make a run at it....thanks again for all of the feedback!!
  13. LOL...yeah, your're kidding, but meanwhile, some young go-getter at Ford just read your comment and is pitching the idea to the CEO as we speak!!!! But, it sounds like if I can get a deal on a vehicle that happens to have NAV it wouldn't be a terrible thing to get, as long as I have my Garmin to rely on. Thanks for all of the input...I love this forum!!
  14. Thanks for the additional feedback. I'm wondering too if MFT would be more stable if it didn't have to run NAV?
  15. Well I'm glad to see there is a consensus!
