  1. Akirby, agreed. There are bad dealers out there and I the only way for us the consumer to hit back, is by complaining. By sending a complaint it puts them on notice. One complaint won't mean anything, but several can get something done. At least we've started somewhere.
  2. Wxman, yea I know how you feel. I still don't fully trust my Edge yet and its been a couple months. Out of curiousity, what'd you trade it in for?
  3. Wow, that's one hell of an issue. Well good thing is if you take it back a third time for that same problem, you can lemon law it (in California anyway). It's pretty much returning the car and getting your money back. I looked into it since I had other issues with the car. It was mainly cosmetic prior to the engine cutting out.
  4. Yea, that seems like a very similar problem that I had. Although I couldn't get mine to start up again. I had to get it towed 40 miles to the dealership that I bought it from. When I dropped it off, they couldn't get it started either. An hour later they called me back and said that they got it started, but didn't know how they got it started. They had driven my car for about 300 miles and they had it for 2 weeks, before they replaced the "fuel module" that controls the fuel pump. I guess that's what the Ford Service Engineers told them to do, because they couldn't replicate the problem. Let me know how it goes with yours. You're the second person to respond back with a very similar issue.
  5. Not to bring a dead thread back to life, but this is exactly what happened to me. Engine stalled going 70mph on the freeway. Lost power steering etc. No warning. Its a 2011 Ford Edge with 8k miles on it. Initial response from dealer is that no codes popped up and they can't recreate the problem. Makes me nervous considering I had my family in the car at the time it happened. And my wife drives this with my 3 month old in the car most of the time.
  6. I have a 2011 Edge with only 8k miles on it and this happened to me today with the wife and 3mo old. I was driving on the freeway and my engine began to sputter. I stepped on the gas and nothing. The engine had shut off. I lost power steering and brake assist. Luckily, I was able to pull off to the right shoulder without incident. Good thing I was driving rather than my wife. I think she might have freaked out. Got it dropped off at the dealer and after a couple hours they called me back and stated it was a fuel sensor that tripped apparently cutting off the flow of fuel to the engine. Anyone have anything like this happen to them??
  7. :fool: Well turns out it was one of the LED leads not making proper contact. doh
  8. Ok, so I replaced my all my turn signals to LED (total of 4 bulbs), FYI.. 2011 Edge. And I put in the 3ohm resistors in parallel with on each side (total of 2, one resister per side). It was working fine for awhile. I didn't have the fast flasher/blinker. Then randomly my left blinker would go fast. All LED's light up fine, but for some odd reason, every so often my Left blinker goes fast. Its got a mind of its own and its driving me nuts. Any ideas anyone???
  9. I found the same thing to be true on my 2011. I decided I'd drill a hole myself and add the fender fastener myself. That was a bad idea. Seems the metal behind there is pretty thick. I never got through to the other side until I decided that I would tap the hole and just use a fender washer with a screw. Broke my tap. Now there is now way to put anything in there. I guess I'm SOL and I'll just paint it white and then it will be like I didn't do anything to it. LOL
  10. Anyone want to trade me for my Chrome door handles for your White Platinum Tri-coat handles? I bought my 2011 Edge SEL in late August so the handles are in mint condition. I'm in SoCal, PM me if your interested. We can do a swap. Thanks,
  11. Anyone notice when viewed from the front of the Edge, that the puddle lamp on the passenger side can be seen? I noticed it last night when I parked my car backwards into a parking spot. When I came back at night and unlocked my doors, I could see my puddle lamp light shining at me. The driver side was perfect. I couldn't see the light, because the puddle lamps are well hidden under the mirror. It bugged me so bad, I ended up taking out the puddle lamp out and painted the side that is visible from the front black. (FYI, I did the LED mod on the puddle lights) I should have taken pictures but didn't think of it till now. Let me know if you guys have seen this as well. (2011 Edge)
  12. I did the emblems on the wife's IS250 with plastidip. It turned out well. Gonna do the edge soon. Just gotta figure out how to take the emblems off first.
  13. What'd u use to paint the grill? I was thinking of doing plastidip on my emblems. Looks good though!
  14. It's pretty easy. You're correct. I had to trim the HID's a little to fit. You will need to drill holes into the covere of the light housing. The hid kit should come with agrommets that will still seal to prevent moisture. I used body molding double stick tape to mount my ballasts. They seem to be holding them pretty solid. But I'm eventually going to mount them properly with screws. Just didn't want to drill any new holes at the time. But definitely worth the mod.
