Aha! Problem identified. The external hard drive is formatted as NTFS.

Thanks for clarifying that, Mark. It's great to have feedback right from the "source." Oh, and I was able to get streaming audio to work -- I had to make sure the PPC and SYNC were paired first before initiating the streaming audio on the PPC. I'm looking forward to the "Owner to Owner" section of the syncmyride.com site to open up. I think it'll be a great forum to share SYNC-specific information.

Same issues here. I have a Sprint/HTC PPC6800 Windows Mobile 6 and I can't get text messaging or streaming audio to work.

What are the specs on your USB powered laptop drive? GB? Manufacturer?

Yes, and yes. It's a USB 2.0-powered external hard drive. When I connect it to the USB in the Edge I get a "USB device not recognized" message (or something to that effect).

I tried hooking up an external 80 GB hard drive and it did not work. Flash USB drives and ipod work fine.

Can a powered subwoofer (i.e. Infinity Basslink) be added easily to the stock head unit?
