  1. Yup. The original thread is buried in a model year specific sub-forum that I came across because I had a pre-conceived idea of what I was looking for via the search function. People owning all model years seem interested and this is an EXTERIOR modification; trying to make it easier for folks casually browsing more general categories to find an excellent thread. Hope the knot on your head goes down soon.
  2. Just added my 2 cents to this excellent thread http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/3905-found-it/page__st__80__gopid__65787#entry65787
  3. Just want to reinforce a point that's been made. I just installed the Scion protector on my 2011 LTD. Initially, I followed the mfg directions and worked from the middle. This caused gapping on the corners of the wrap-around edge. I pulled the whole thing up (most of the tape was still intact) and worked the opposite direction, ie, from wrap-around edge towards the rear of the bumper. The fit was perfect. I had previously notched the back edge of the protector to account for the 4 center-most trim screws that attach the bumper cover to car. If you work from front to back, you definately need to notch where the screws are because they will be completely hidden by the protector. If this were a virgin install instead of a retry, I'd suggest that you run the middle and rear tape backings (red) out the back rather than front edge of the protector. When you strip the red backings off the tape, do so at an extreme angle or the backings will tear. Great fit on the second try, looks like it belongs on the car and the wrap-around edge will definitely save some wear and tear.
  4. I agree that surround sound is tinny. Stereo mode is better and Sirius is probably not a good measure of quality, the signal is so compressed it can't sound better than "OK". I've played some CD's that sound good through the Sony. Is it a great system? No, but it's pretty darn good. I wouldn't replace the speakers without knowing their dynamic range and sensitivity numbers, does anyone know where to find that level of detail?
  5. I haven't had my '11 Limited for long but I don't feel any need to upgrade the factory system. For me, this is unusual. I think the speakers are well matched and carry the load well. On another note, has anyone noticed that the system sounds best (from the driver's seat) with the fader biased toward the rear about 2 clicks?
