It won't text message or do virtual voicemail! Phone, Contacts, & Call History Only. The more I use Sync the more I'm convinced it could be a whole lot better with a MAJOR software update. Right now it really doesn't stand out from any other vehicle systems that have Bluetooth & control an MP3 player. I wouldn't go out of my way to have Sync but I would for Bluetooth and MP3 player functionality.

Rumor has it there will NOT be a merger as it would eliminate any competition. The FCC doesn't want to see another cable TV mess.

MS Sync comes up a little short in my opinion. While it does do as advertised...there is much more it should and could do. Lousy interface. Constant errors with indexing music on my 5th. Generation Ipod. Iphone text messaging doesn't work. It is basically a bluetooth hands free phone system and a way to hard wire a MP3 player to the radio. Actually disapointed until a extensive software update is done!

I have both and so far the phone does work although text messaging doesn't and voice mail doesn't. It works in most every other way so far as I can tell so far. If you have anymore specific questions let me know I will advise. Since I've only had my edge for a couple of days.

I took delivery of a 2008 Limited yesterday and have some additions..... Overall pleased with vehicle. A couple of improvements..... Instrumentation is terrible to view at dusk with headlights off.....anyone else notice this or is it just me? At night the panel dimmer set as high as it goes doesn't make panel bright enough to clearly see in my opinion. Sync and Ipod works well but the screen on the Navi Radio could be a little more user friendly and colorful, Microsoft could have had something really good here but it is only average. I use and Iphone and not all phone/text functions work with Sync. Does MS really not like Apple! Hopefully we will see a software update to improve sync. The LIMITED version should have a little sharper styling than lesser models, maybe leather door panels or some woodgrain finish. Drink holder in door is useless. There are many things to like about the Edge. Happy with it but It misses on a few issues and I would agree with original post plus my own additions.
