  1. So im sittin in my driveway and press "current position" on the touchscreen of my 08 Edge Navigation system, and It said that my current location was a different address(not just the number but street also)than my home address. So i press "calibrate position" and it lets me choose my Actuall home adress on the map as my current position ....However Now that the map shows that im on a differnt street (two blocks from my actual home)than i Am physically, the Geography of the turn by turn navigation makes no sense for where i am :banghead:

...Now i'm aware i should be able to find my way out of my own neighborhood but this is just the FIRST of many inaccuracies<sp?

It often shows me off roading(like in the woods next to some roads and wont start the guidance until it reads that im on a main road, but i physically was, so i calibrated and fixed that but after making a turn THAT location was now off due to the First calibration :censored: ....this happens often.

Anyone else having Nav Address or physical street geography Problems?

My '08 seems to be dead on.

  2. The lights are in and working. :happy feet:

    Now for the low down.

You NEED the relay system, I must have got lucky yesterday and when I turned on the lights I must have been pulsed just right to get them to come on. I hooked back up today and only one light at a time would come on but if I turned the fogs on and off it would pulse the other light so if I done it fast the light came on to stay, that pretty much told me that yes I needed the relay.

The ballast tie down was the worst part, trying to find a place to tie down on the driver side isn't easy. I ended up tying off to the wiring harness to the relay box. The passenger side I tied off to the washer fluid it was perfect. After the weather gets a little warmer I will also try a new place to tie off the driver side ballast

I'll go out tonight and re-aim the lights and see how easy that will be.

One thing I did notice that if you have the lights on for a few minutes to get at full temp and you shut them off and turn back on before they cool down they do a really cool strobing light show. It kind of looks like wig wags from a police car. Not recommended! You also hear the relay buzz but it's is easily drowned out by road noise or the radio.

All in all if you know what you are doing they do install pretty fast, Chad is right 15-20 minutes and they should be up and running.

If anybody wants to see pics let me know and I'll take some at night after they are aimed.

One last thing. After you remove the plastic ring at the bottom of the light you need to pull the rubber gasket down in the spot where the ring was so it will fit in and lock in the housing. You might also need to clip the keyed part of the light so it will fit in the housing, I had to but that just might be me.

  3. I am not a big fan and would not likely do one... I do understand their value.... but this what you mean?

On eBay there are these clear vinyl type kits that are see thru and go on critical parts of the car - like hood - for protection. kind of interesting.

I had the 3M kit on my Grand Prix and it did a great job at keeping the rock chips out of the paint. For the rockers, 18" up the hood and front fascia/bumper and the lower door panel it cost $670 installed. Not cheap but very good product. Not easy to see either when the car was clean, being that the car was black you could see the lines at times but a small price to pay for protecting the paint.

  4. Hey, can you please clarify about it not fitting. What isn't fitting? Bulbs? Are you sure you got the right kit? I bought a kit from Chad but I've had nothing but headaches with HID kits and the last thing I want is another kit not work for me.

OK here is what is going on.

The lights look great I had a small problem with the keying of the lights, nothing major the tabs are about 1/16 too wide to fit in the housing. I clipped the tab and the bulbs would go in but I couldn't get the light to lock in place from what I thought was the rubber ring not allowing it.

Chad PM'd me back and indicated that the plastic ring needs to be removed and that should fix the problem. I will try tomorrow and see how it works.

Also while I had the lights hooked up I didn't receive a light out warning and I'm not using the relays, so if that helps you any Craiger I don't know.

I will post tomorrow on how it goes.

  5. The manufacturer is the same who produces kits for Lexus and Infiniti. However, they are being sold under the "Oracle" name. They will be available on my website (which is currently in design).

I was going to wait until the site was up to release the kits, but there was such a demand for them from other sites i sponsor, that i figured i'd let them out early.

the warranty will go through me, but parts will be shipped to you either from me or the manufacturer, whichever has them available at the time.

Hope that answers your questions. Let me know if you have any more questions.

OK I'm in PM me with the info I'll need.

I won't be able to do a write up on them for a while since the weather sucks around here, I'll be waiting for a 60+ day to do the work.

Guess this means I better hurry up and order the rest of my LED's also.

  6. Just a note from Captain Obvious, if the seat is already all the way back, the easy entry/exit feature can't help. The only issue I've had with the memory settings is sometimes the driver's mirror is not returned to the position when it was set.

I wish it was that but I have plenty of room before it is all the way back. Like I said sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

  7. :finger: I have my 2008 Limited for about 4 weeks. I intermitantly lose my seat memory settings, in either 1 or 2. I have tried resetting, with power on power off to try to figure out what could be causing this. :banghead: I keep hitting my head against a wall!

Any suggestions, ideas, or tests before I bring it to the dealer & they say "we cannot duplicate the problem".

I have a similar problem. Mine keeps the memory settings but doesn't do the easy exit all the time. I checked the setting and it is set to on but sometimes it works but most it doesn't.

  8. Anybody else have a problem with the Easy Out seats?

Mine just stopped working a few weeks back. I have tried turning them off and back on and that doesn't work. The seat memory still works fine though so it shouldn't be a loose wire or anything.

I guess this is a small thing and can wait before I run it to the dealer to get it fixed, but wanted to see if anybody else has seen this.

  9. I was waiting to see what people come up with for light bulbs. I really want to get my front signal lights all LED, 2 rear side marker on the rear light assembly, LED brakelights, LED high mount brake lights, interior, puddle lights.

According to my manual the high mount is already LED for 2008.
