  1. Thank you all for your responses, I spoke to a Ford Mechanic at anothe rlocation and they believe it should be covered so wish me luck :) And the shroud price I got was 180, I was blown away!! For a plastic shroud!

  2. I have a 2011 Edge limited with 55000KMs (34k miles), I brought it in to the dealership today because the wrench light came on, and they told me a wire had corroded because I am missing a shroad (plastic cover) underneath the driver`s side (runs from drivers seat along to back seat) but I can`t find any pictures of said shroud online. If anyone can snap a picture of their undercarriage where that shroud starts and ends I would be in your debt. Thank you so much!!!

BTW, I noticed the Bayview Auto license plate frame in one of your gallery photos... I didn't know they had more than one location. You must have bought yours at the Barrie location. Thunder Bay to Trenton is quite a loooooong drive!

Yes we did buy it from the Barrie location I actually live 600km north of Thunder Bay, so our total trip was about 2300 km to buy this vehicle. We tried dealing with the local dealerships (3 within 500kms) and all of them wouldn't go anywhere near the price of what we got this little guy for. After we bought it we spent an hour at the dealership going over things (paid the hourly rate) and I was very frustrated with the lack of knowledge they had with the system don't forget where we live doesn't have the turn overs that the bigger dealerships have, and I believe they really only train one tech per area of a car. Anyways I agree it would have been easier had we bought it from the dealership however the price difference was in the 8000 range.

I will give the owners manual a look over, thanks for the responses guys.

    Cheers

  4. Let me apologize in advance as I am sure this question has been asked but I can't figure out how to word it for search. When I get out of the Edge (2011 limited awd) the fan automatically turns down. Is there a way so that when I start it stays on max fan and heat?? (I am from Canada and we have been getting alot of snow and cold, and its frustrating starting the car and going out and having to do it all manually. Also can the seats auto turn on the heat?? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me and/or takes the time to read this.

    Cheers.

  5. Hi all,

Purchased a new 2012 Limited today. Have one question regarding the MFT screen. Is the screen suppose to have a bit of give to it in the middle region? It seems a bit "spongy" for lack of a better word. Also sometimes I have press firm to get the screen to recognize the touch area. Any thoughts or comments? Thanks.

I don't notice any difference in the feel of my screen from the sides to the middle, make sure you contact ford with all you concerns or worries, I find it best to send an e mail to the service manager before calling, this way if they say it is fine, but it happens to get worst and worst as your warranty is running out you can prove it was an existing problem prior to expiration. Note I haven't had any problems with for at all with warranty I am just cautious from my last vehicle (not a ford)

Cheers and enjoy your new ride, I love ours.

  6. I did install a hitch mainly for a bike rack but as a few have suggested here installing a hitch should not affect your warranty except if somehow you damage the engine or trans from overheating. But this is unlikely with a light load like a quad or sled. Also some suggested that even if something did happen to your engine or tranny you could take the hitch off to fly under the radar. Not sure on the wiring, but I would suspect there is a connector that you can attach the OEM harness to.

Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it.

  7. I think it looks awesome too. It doesn't at all look like an "asian tuner". To me it looks like someone who has taken a lot of pride in customizing their Edge not just bought the cheap aftermarket stuff and glued it on. Again congrats on the beautiful set of wheels, and although this look may not be for everyone, I think everyone can agree you did a great job!! Cheers!

  8. I was just wondering if anyone knew if installing an aftermarket hitch on my 2011 Edge Limited AWD will effect my warranty at all? Also someone told me all Limited models were pre-wired for trailer wiring, but I find taht hard to believe without the tow package. Anyways I found a great price on a hitch from hitchdepotusa.com and am thinking about installing it for pulling a small trailer with my Quad or Snow machine. Thanks for your time fellow ford enthusiasts!!
