  1. KC, like Sam stated. No I did not have to cut anything on the vehicle to make the lights fit. All the modifications I had to make were to the bulbs that were sent. I had to trim all the tabs on the aftermarket bulbs and the little colored rubber grommet that is on the bulb to get them to seat properly. So when your lease is up you can just put the stock bulbs back in.
  2. Sam, ok I know exactly what you are talking about the relay harness going to the battery. I did end up getting the beam pattern much better. I just had to keep adjusting the headlights until I could get a good amount of forward lighting with out blinding on coming traffic. I think my beam pattern looks really bad in those pics because I was on an incline. Now that I got everything set correctly they look great. They were still a pain to get in though and the 9006 bulbs were not so easily installed like many members mentioned.
  3. Sam I'm not quite sure what you mean by wiring harness? The kit I purchased is just plug and play. Just plugs into the ballast and stock wire harness.
  4. Yeah, I will be going out to my parents house this weekend. They have a nice long flat driveway. I will take some more pics and post and try to adjust them then.
  5. Hi everyone. Just curious what aftermarket hid bulbs you guys are running on a 2012 ford edge? I bought an aftermarket kit that many other members on this forum went with ( ddm 9006 35w hid kit) but it only fit with major modifications and even then my beam pattern seems way off. My only conclusion is that ford may have changed the bulb housing slightly from 2011 to 2012.
  6. Here is a pic of my beam pattern. It seems like something is off. It does not seem to light up the road very much. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks. Now this is at a slight incline on a typical driveway.
  7. Finally got my hid kit installed. Everything worked great except my beam pattern seems off. It doesn't seem to light up the road quite as much as I thought. Here is a pic of my beam pattern but it is from a slight incline on my drive way. http://36ohk6dgmcd1n-c.c.yom.mail.yahoo.net/om/api/1.0/openmail.app.invoke/36ohk6dgmcd1n/9/1.0.35/us/en-US/view.html/0#
  8. NWS Thanks for your reply. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had trouble. I will probably try and tackle this project this Saturday morning. Any tips on removing the bumper? Also once I get the bulbs in what way is the best way to align them so I get an even beam pattern? I have heard it is easy to install them upside down. Anyhow I still think it's crazy we have to remove our front bumpers just to install headlight bulbs but once again I appreciate your help on this.
  9. Hi guys, looking for some help ASAP! I received my 9006 hid kit from ddm tuning. I was happy hooked everything up and everything works great. Had one heck of a time removing the stock bulbs but did it. Now the problem I'm running in to is for the life of me I can't get the hid bulbs to fit into the socket. Now I have already trimmed the 9006 kit to match the stock edge bulbs and no luck. I can't even fit the stock ford edge bulbs back in to the socket. It almost seems like their is way too much retention on the socket. I can get the tabs to align but just can't get enough force behind it to push all the tabs in place. The most I can get are two tabs to align and then my lighting is way off. Please any suggestions before I have to remove the front bumper and try to remove the whole headlight assembly. Thanks guys.
  10. Actually my wife and I were originally interested in the new explorer but the edge just fit us better. The edge we picked up is blue se model with the convenience package, roof rack, Ford sync and all weather floor mats.
  11. Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a proud new owner of not only my first edge but my first ford vehicle. I have to say I have been impressed. Looking forward to chatting car stuff with everyone and I'm definitely finding a lot of useful information on this forum.
