I have the same problem mentioned in this thread -- an antenna that is broken off in the antenna base of my 2008 Ford Edge SE. The antenna base, which is mounted on the roof, is damaged, and I've purchased a replacement.
I thought I'd be able to just unscrew the existing base from the car, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to access the base from the bottom to get at the bolt that is holding it to the roof. The advice provided above mentions getting access by removing the interior light console / sunglass holder. But how is this attaced to the roof? I've tried prying it loose, but it feels like I'm going to break it before it comes loose. Anyone have any experience with this?
