  1. Your right about following changing the oil and specs, I have 2004 Nissan Pathfinder that has over 160,000 on it right now and still runs like new. I want to get rid of it cause I've grown tired of it, but my wife won't let me cause it still runs great!! Now I gotta start spreading the oil changes out longer.

  2. I received a brand new set of OEM vertical parking lights and a set of the Philips DayLight 8 LED DRLs. I finished one last night and took some photos today. Below is a slideshow of the photos I took during the day on Friday. I'll be posting a video soon showing what the new DRLs look like on the road.

I like the lights KC, I like the brightness of them, really like the way Dingo's looked with it blacked out though, it mad the front of the car look more aggressive. Great job though, from looking at them would think they were OEM.

  3. You do know how much a 'complete' set will run you?

Are you willing to spend that much?

Yes I do know how much they run, I have the PDF print out of the template to see if they will work with the stick wheels on the sport. I just haven't had time to get over to my best friends shop to throw it on the lift.

  4. Picked up the calipers from the powder coaters today and man do I love the way they came out.

I had them color matched to the Copper of the Edge and he did a wonderful job on them.

I also think I have picked out the new wheels I am going to use.

I test fit the AWD rotor today and it was too small, where the Shelby rotor was a hair too large. We are back to test fitting other rotors. I am planning on spending more time on it this weekend. Here are some of the pictures.

He did an awesome job with the powdercoat, wheels look great too. I hope you finally find the right rotor to get it to work.

  5. Dingo, glad you made us aware of our inadvertent hijacking attempt. We've pretty much talked about everything except for what Mike started the thread for........ What was it again? Hold on. Let me scroll back to the top.......... Oh yeah, "Halo/angel eyes and audi style….?"

Ok, here's my contribution to Mike's thread. I just received a brand new set of OEM vertical parking lights and installed the 8 LED Philips DRLs. However, this time I left the OEM light pipe in place and mounted the Philips DRL directly behind it. Holy crap, it looks frickin' awesome!!!! As Dingo mentioned to me, the Philips DRLs are designed for horizontal mounting. In the horizontal orientation the lens refracts the light along the length of the light bar, or side to side creating a wide beam angle that spreads the light across the road. Mounting the DRL vertically, the refracted beam spread is now throwing the light up and down with far less going side to side across the road. By leaving the OEM light pipe in place, I have created a secondary light refractor which now throws more light on a horizontal plane. I was amazed how bright the light beam remained as I walked from one side of the car to the other. The light pipe does diffuse the 8 individual LEDs a bit, but each light is still very pronounced and noticeable when lit (both bright & dimmed). Here is a video and slide show that I shot tonight after putting the upgraded light together.

KC, is there a way the lights can be wired in so that the give off full brightness when the headlights are on and dimmed only when the park lights are on? I do primarily night driving so I need all the extra light I can get.

  6. I'm an Amsoil dealer, even though I sell sell the oil. If I wasn't a dealer I would still use their oil!! It's the best in the industry and I've also Seen a very slight gain in MPG in my Sport. Then again it could be the engine breaking in. The signature blend is rated for 15,000 miles. If you guys do a little research on the Amsoil products and would like to purchase let me know.

  7. Its a good idea, but I dont want anything to do with the possible liability issues of a brake kit. I will however post a really in depth how to so that anyone who wants to attempt it can have the information.

Once you have it all figured out, got it mounted, you gotta do some serious stop testing to see if it works any better than stock, and be able to withstand the Edge's weight.

  8. Ok, so I found a set of Acura TL Type S brembos that we are going to fit on the rears. Same style 4 piston as the fronts so we have some familiarity with them. Wont do a ton with those till the fronts are all set. Im going to post more pictures this weekend.

Once you have it all figured out you can start selling your own kit for the edge at half the cost of the Grand Touring Kit from Brembo.

  9. Very nice Dingo. Thanks for the photo.

Tom (tpm419419). You had somewhat jokingly asked Dingo if he would do your lights. I'm actually starting a little business upgrading the vertical parking lights on the Edge to DRLs and would be very interested in doing this for you. I'm not quite ready to open the shop doors to the public, but I am currently working with three forum members to convert their lights. If you're interested shoot me a PM to discuss. Thanks.

Hey KC, do you think you can make one exactly like Dingo's?

  10. gallery_8737_253_1432013.jpg

After weeks of machining and measuring as well as trial and error on rotors, I think we have a winner. I will get many more pictures after we powder coat and mock it up with the 355mm (14") rotors, but its looks like its going to be great, for around $900 - $100 MAX, you cant beat it.

Very nice!! What year Edge do you have?
