Mine has a burning smell (almost like hair burning) when I accerlerate fast from 40-75 onto the freeway. It takes about 15 seconds to kick in. It lasts for about a minute and then goes away. Only under hard acceleration. Worse with the a/c on recirc. Dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong. Oh, its a brand new vechicle. less than 3k on it right now. I took him for a ride, and I smelled it but he says he didn't. They said they sent Ford a notice to see if there was anything like it; no response.

The rims with that offset came out looking really nice. Very happy with them. I'm getting it lowered next week. For some reason mine sits really high, and there is a lot of space between the tire and wheel well. Seems some SE models sit higher than normal. i've never seen a SEL or Limited with the problem.

Ordered my H&R springs yesterday, and they should be here Firday. Getting them installed next Tuesday for $200 labor plus $75 for 4 wheel alignment. I can't wait. It will probably only lower it to be a normal height, because it sits so frikin' high. Seems that some of the SE models for some reason sit higher than the other models. Dealer can't explain why. I'll post before and after once done.

I thought your ride was already lowered. What was the setup at that time, and why are you installing H&R springs now?

I just bought some American Racing Hot Rod Nova Chrome 20" wheels to replace the tiny 17" ones that my SE came with. I also bought the 255/45/20 Yokohama Parada Spec-X, and couldn't be happier. Didn't give up much at all, if any, in ride comfort. It also handles much, much better with the lower V-rated profile tires. Love Yokos's; been using them for years.

Thanks. I thought it would cause warranty issues. Just have to get used to it. But the one at work I park by looks much better. Just don't understand the variance between them . They are the same year and model.

My Edge sits extremely high. It makes the distance from the tire to the wheel well huge. I've looked at other stock ones on this site and they sit much lower. Anyone know why? It looks like crap. And, is there anything that can be done to reduce it without voiding the warranty? Thanks.

Does anyone know what the offset on the original factory wheels are? I'm going from 17's to 20's. The 17's look way too small. I don't want the ones I'm getting to be sticking out too far. The ones I'm getting are 20 x 8.5 with a 35mm offset. I think they'll be ok; TR says they should be fine, but didn't know the original offsets. Can't get the link to work, but they are American Racing Nova Chrome from TR.

2011's and 2012's don't have the bands. They are on the valves now. The bands apparently had issues.

Hey everyone, I just picked my Edge up yesterday. Black with black leather interior. Looking forward to the sharing here. I got rid of my Pontiac G8 GT. It was a monster, but the constant problems finally overcame the look and fun of the car. That forum was great, and I think this one will be just as good. Fist up is getting 20's put on soon. The factory wheels look like little toys on it.
