  1. I went to Ruts hut twice, I just don't get the obsession with that place. I think the dogs are nasty and you can't even get chili dogs. Jimmy buffs is ok though, they closed the one on 22 and thank god it doesn't even compare to their other locations.

  2. Where! SPEAK! Lets hit it!

a,little spot named Dave's in South Amboy. I literally drove by this place for,6 years before I noticed it. Every time I go there he is packed, I can't believe I never heard of it and now everyone talks about the place.
  3. I use to frequent the Varisty when I lived down there. Haven't been back in years, but there is a little hot dog joint hidden in the back streets of a small town here in NJ that would give their dogs a run for their money. I know you think I'm crazy but I have personally gotten 13 people hooked on this place. He makes burgers but they aren't great, just the dogs and cheese steaks are worth going for and the chili cheese fries.

  4. When you say reef light, is that like an off road light?
yea I meant aquariums, i have other cars with HIDs but they were always stock and I never paid attention to the kelvin rating on them. I have had reef aquariums since 1992 and have dealt with kelvin ratings in the lighting needed for them. The types of bulbs include metal halide, T5, T12, VHO'S, LEDs, even HIDs also plasma bulbs. And a few other types along the way, the ne thing they all had in common was the kelvin acting. It does vary slightly in metal halide bulbs, but not by much.
  5. Brock, as I mentioned in a few of my postings, the 35W, 5000K will be slightly blue. You can wash away most (if not all) blue and create a crips white color by upping the ballasts to 55W (they create a brighter hotspot and wash out the blue).

If you wanted white light, why did you not go with the 4300k/35W?

i didn't see your post until after I ordered mine, also I was going off my knowledge of my Reef lights. That obviously didn't work out but oh well, I'm just going to leave the, for now or just order the 4300 bulbs.
  6. Whatever module puts out the voltage to the ambient lighting LEDs has had a brain-fart. There is obviously no voltage to the blue LEDs, but the red and green work perfectly. (In case y'all didn't know, they're RGB LEDs.)

It only affects the interior LEDs (front and rear footwells, front cubby, console, and cupholders.) The doors still work as directed.

Because of this, red is red, orange is orange, the darker of the blues is nothing, magenta is red, and the others are green.

I'm sure some poor Ford dealer tech is going to hate this...

shouldnt be a hard fix, if they are like the RGB LEDs I run n my reef tanks. I had this happen to two of the pucks, it was just a loose wire.
  7. When I bought my Edge I had a 2 year service plan thrown in as well as the 5 year 100k mile warranty. I have my oil changed at 5k miles and the Dealership hasn't said anything about it, they take it in and I'm done. My Edge has 16k miles now, I have had for almost a year. I received a letter from ford a few months ago about the MFT and SYNC stating they are now covered for the life of the vehicle, I got the same letter for my SHO as well. So far in my 2 year service plan I have had the oil changes, the replaced the cabin filter and all three windshield wipers as well. I asked about the rear wiper and they said don't worry it's covered under the plan and we will replace all three. I didn't know this when I got the plan, but it was thrown in with the extended warranty.

  8. Got my HIDs in yesterday, they do look a little blue especially when they are first turned on. They never get to that crisp white color I was hoping for. I bought the morimoto 35w/5000k kit. I was comparing the kelvin rating to what I use on my reef tanks, the bulbs for the reef tank must be rated differently. Because a 10k bulb for the reef is a pure crisp white and a 6700 is very yellow. I have lights rated up to 22k on my tanks and you can imagine those are very blue. I guess I will get use to them as last night was my first drive with them, my SHO has stock HIDs and they are more of a whitish/yellow.

  9. A TB by itself won't do anything for your Edge in power or fuel economy. For that to work properly you would need to do the CAI and exhaust as well. The TB can pull in more air with the stock air filter as that is only at so many CFM and the TB is rated for more. The exhaust can't push out more CFM either in stock form. I think the power you are feeling is in your head. Don't take that the wrong way, it wasn't meant to be an insult. The TB upgrade is a common mod people do to Mustangs and other sports cars, but you need to upgrade everything to see results.

  10. Hey Mani, I'm in Old Bridge. Very close to you, my HIDs are planned for Tuesday, we will see though. They were planned for today but I got involved with other things.

  11. Living in NJ I average around 21 MPG. But traffic here is not really the same as most other parts of the US. I did get 31 MPG on a road trip to Myrtle Beach. That was with 3 people and a full cargo area, two fill ups for a 660 plus mile trip. I did have gas left in the tank when I got there. My highway average near me is more around 25-26 MPG but you can rarely go more than a mile in NJ before hitting some kind of traffic.

  12. Years ago back in 98 I had a mustang of mine get totaled. The car was parked but got hit by a tractor trailer that jumped a curb, it took the engine out of the car. A few years later I decided to run the VIN just out of curiously to see what carfax would say. It showed the car registered in a near by town with no damage history at all. My insurance paid a full claim out to me for that car, I will never trust carfax or auto body shops.

  13. Since others chimed in, I went from NJ to Myrtly Beach last summer. My Ecoboost was giving me 33 mpg according to the computer at 70 MPH anything over that speed the MPG drop drastically. I averaged 28 MPG for the whole 660 plus mile trip one way. It took two tanks each way. I would have had better overall MPG but driving from NJ to Washington DC there was more stop an go traffic.

  14. Not underestimating. I'm sure its quick. But no one (with a real car brain) sits there and goes "I want to buy a fast car. I want go buy a car for speed. Im going to get a SHO." People buy that car for its combination of extremely nice style, and all the amazing technology packed in it (that all high model Ford's have), and the added bonus that the performance is there.

Point being if there are cars (mustang, camaro, challenger etc) whose lowest models can keep up with the top of the top model (SHO) its not a car that you buy for the purose of "going fast"

i bought the SHO for the reasons you named as well as the fact I could throw a few dollars at it and Make it just as fast as any higher model camaro, mustang or even base corvettes and other vehicles in the category. People that know what a SHO is already know they are quick 4 door cars. But it really surprises people when you blow by them and they can't catch up. I kind of like that feeling, you might not understand if you are thinking only mustangs and cars like that should be bought to go fast. I looked at the Cadillac CTS-V but couldn't justify spending 70 grand on it. By they way you can even buy that in a station wagon body and blow the doors off a lot of cars out there. I think you need to stop being so narrow minded, also what kind of times are you running in your Cobra? Who built you roll cage and what tires are you running in the rear? Also what gears and rear end?
  15. I only really have corrected that dude. He irritates me by being pessimistic and arrogant while offering no help to anyone.

The mirror heaters turn on with the defroster, if you actually have heated mirrors. Turn on the defroster, wait about 30 seconds, and feel the mirror with your fingers. You'll quickly know if they're heated.

That hard shift has a tsb to correct it. Ask your local dealership.

i do offer to help others and I have, you are just mad because I corrected you on the sub woofer thread. Don't get your panties in a bunch because you were wrong. I don't like telling people to go do something if they are uncomfortable doing something. There are many different types of people out there. Just because you feel comfortable doing something to your car doesn't mean the next guy will. I also have seen multiple threads were you have been wrong and given out the wrong info. You can pull the wool over someone's eyes that doesn't know any better. But your not gonna fool me with the wrong info and trying to tell me you are right. I will give you credit for being right on some things and having the guts to pull apart your new car. But like you I understand how the cars snap together and how complicated looking things are simple. A lot of people don't want to rip apart a 30k plus vehicle. That's why I don't tell people to do it unless they are comfortable doing it.
  16. These "Bugs" your talking about in reference to the Audison Bit One can you tell me about them?
the bugs are for example that I'm aware of and have seen some personally. Ground noises from the unit, sending no signal to one speaker or multiple speakers, fried circuit boards. They are also not the most user friendly piece out there. I have taken two of these out with bad ground noises and replaced them with the JBL and no ground noise. The JBL is also the most user friendly processor avaliable as of now. There were a few other bugs with the bitone as well, but they were less common.
