My 08 has the 20 inch chrome clad wheels. At 2000 miles the right front developed a bubble about an inch in diameter about half way between the hub and the rim on one spoke. No sign of damage inflicted to the wheel. Dealer is ordering a replacement under warranty. Ironically I read that one reason Ford went to the chrome claddng was the high warranty claims from pitting on "real" chrome wheels. Anyone else encountered this issue? Hopefully its contamination on the plastic before plating or some other fluke that wont be common.

My 08 makes a groaning noise from the rear brakes when applied lightly to moderately. Also noticable when backing up. Dealer says they cannot find any problem, that is has been reported before and I should expect it to go away by 5000 miles. At 2100 no change so far.

In test drives, the whine was quite noticable on the Edge but very subtle on the MKX. It looks like the likely difference is the plastic shroud on top of the MKX engine. Has anyone tried putting the MKX cover on an Edge?

Just got a 2008 with the 20s and haven't had a chance to pull off a cover. Could the chrome covers be removed and the aluminum polished? Or is the wheel not presentable without the cover?
