My 2011 MKX had a noticable grinding noise from the brakes when in reverse. I just purchased and installed ceramic pads to cut down on the annoying brake dust problem on the wheels. The side effect also yielded no more grinding noise. Pads for front and back cost about $111 plus freight if bought from Tire Rack. The two benefits combined were well worth the money.
