  1. Let me start by saying I've used this dealer several times and they've been great in the past. I've had oil changes, tires mounted, and even past TSB work done. Transmission bag was first back in 2012, then last summer it was the APIM swap. So I felt very comfortable calling them when I noticed my break booster going out. Spongy pedal, loud hiss from the dash when brakes are applied. I came here got the TSB looked up my vin in ETIS printed it all out and took it to the dealer on Friday morning at 7:30am.

Of course they need to verify everything with their own test. Around Noon I called about the Edge. Yup test confirmed bad brake booster, parts ordered should be ready on Saturday. So today I call around noon, yup it's ready.

Wife drops me off, I go to the service cashier and he proceeds to tell me I owe them 109.00 for the work. I said I don't think that's right as it was a TSB repair covered by ford. So he says let's call the service rep in here. She tells me it's a deductible due to my mileage.....?????? She then pulls the work form showing my mileage at 84,xxx I said ok, I then show her the first paragraph of the TSB that states 10yr or 150,000 miles warranty extension. She and the cashier look at each other like "what do we do?" After about 3 minutes of silence she says "I think we messed up the work order". I ask can I have something showing the work that was completed for my records? Another long pause and then the cashier prints a page for me. Had all my info and part listed and the tech that did the work but any price on the page was zeroed out.

I really felt like they were completely aware of how TSBs are handled but was hoping that I wasn't. I hate feeling like I can't trust this dealer. I will say this service rep was not the one I've always dealt with in the past as he was on vacation. Maybe that had something to do with it.

This was Ted Russell Ford Parkside in Knoxville TN.

  2. The lack of custom wallpaper really bugs me. So much so that it's the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a new edge vs my 2011. Wife calls me crazy, but I like things to looks a certain way, even at a glance. I also agree with that other post about the Nav map coloration being too light. Yellow roads, green grass, blue water makes for a nice map.

  3. Apple is definitely the cause. its basically doing the same thing MFT does while the car is in motion i.e. Not allowing touch screen input to change an address in the nav. Most of apples native apps work fine "eyes free" cause of how they were written to work with CAR PLAY. It's stuff like Pandora and non apple apps that "Siri" won't let you open.

It's a pretty simple concept that has had waaaaaay to much thought put into who's doing what.
