  1. Like a few here I got it installed at the dealer and now regret it slightly. Is there a way of getting a different remote that would use the factory autostart ?? It would be nice to be able to start the thing IN the house. I have been searching both here and on Google and can't seem to find anything.

Sounds weird but hold it under your chin while pushing the button (and hold it down for 2 or 3 seconds). Dunno why and it works with all remote start devices. I thought it was crazy when my friend told me about it. It works for me, it might work for you too. Try it out and report findings.

  2. :happy feet: Drove to work today in my 2009 Honda Accord paid for by Ford. Finalized buyback of my 2007 Edge last night! Settled through arbitration with the Better Business Bureau. Thanks to all of you (except Capt. Kirk) for your comments and suggestions. Special thanks to whoever posted the service bulletin on here awhile back. It really helped in my arbitration. Good luck to the rest of you. If you are experiencing the leak and are frustrated by repeated fixes check BBB.org for your state. I don't think Ford will give anyone a hard time buying back the Edge.

    :doh::hysterical:

  3. I am sure capnkirk knows a whole lot about nothing. Dodge/Chrysler has been bankrupt in the past. Did anybody get burned? I don't think so. Have you ever even sat in a Traverse? I don't think so.

The way you attacked the person above I can see you know nothing about everything. This is my last response to you.

Never driven one but have sat in one. I was basing my response on my best friend(die hard bowtie man) who is the service adviser at our local GM dealer.

  4. Chevrolet Traverse

Sweet.. That rattle trap is 10 times worse than the edge.. Not to mention, there probably won't be a warranty coming from GM since they are going to go bankrupt soon..

    Good Choice.!

  5. Thanks for the info but I am just a mom will never get under the hood or check the tranny fluid and I don't want to pay someone else to check these fluids. Thanks anyway. Hopefully I will make it the BBB and back.

Seriously? You'll whine and complain but won't try to take one minute of your crazy busy day to open the hood and actually look at your car? or bend down to see if there is actually a leak or a puddle?

Maybe I missed something because I didn't read the entire thread but take a little responsibility and maintain your vehicle. If you are so worried about making it to the BBB and back, do you really think you should be driving your kids anywhere in any vehicle?? Doesn't sound safe to me

    Call a taxi.!

  6. I wasn't sure so I did a little research and couldn't find any other CAI's that require a tuner

"NOTE: This Cold Air Kit REQUIRES a tune. Failure to use a tune can result in engine damage. For more information about purchasing a tune,"

Which makes me think this CAI (ONLY) install would result in little or NO increase in hp/torque.

Example: A CAI (only) install on a ford 6.0 diesel results in NO increase in hp/torque.

Anybody ever seen a CAI that REQUIRES a tune?

    ab

Yes. Mustang GT500's require a tune with a CAI upgrade because of the MAF. It might be the same on the Edge but I would just get a drop in K & N and a tune and call it a day.

  7. I use a drop in on our MKX. Performance wise I'm not sure if I could tell a difference. Mileage wise I believe it helps based on just looking at the mileage WAG'd by the computer. Where I think it really help is $$$. You don't have to spend money on new paper filters every 5k miles so that makes it worth it right there.

If you drive in an urban area you don't have to worry about getting any unwanted particles in your engine. We run ours on dirt roads all the time and have had no problems in 25k miles.

  8. Now re-read the entire first sentace of my post.

I haven't seen a chip or any other performance upgrades that are readily avalible yet, but then again I haven't been looking that hard either.

Fair enough. I have my tuner for my 07 Edge with a 91 octane tune for sale $300 shipped if you're interested. I saw about 2mpg increase with the tune and the power was very noticeable. Save yourself $100 bucks.

  9. We all know the concept. Just use something that looks good like a plastic of aluminum tube instead of dryer hose. Thats all we're saying.

As far as a 10k or 18k mod like the diesels or a resistor on the MAF, why not just buy a tuner and then you can have full control of timing and fuel? I know its cheaper but the gain is going to be minimal compared to a tuner/custom tune.

    Just MHO.
