2011 Ford Edge 3.5 SEL Can someone explain how this works. How to test and what’s connected to it? This is the part connected to the positive battery cable.

Has anyone experienced these issues and what did you do to resolve? 2011 Edge replaced battery, replaced alternator, tested before installing (had the old one tested, passed), so both alternators tested good dash still shows, "Check charging system" I dont know what else to check, dont want to take to dealer and pay $1,000 for something simple car starts and drives with no issue, just no charge also what is the purpose of the fuse/circuit breaker on the positive battery cable?
