  1. Awesome. That's a huge help! i like how he refers to it as a "ghost" filter because I've had the same feeling trying to track down a replacement part.
  2. Hey guy, got an interesting question for you. Climbed under my 2011 Edge AWD to replace PTU, tranny, and diff fluid and I noticed this little inline filter has some fluid on it. It's not "leaking" just looks like some oil is seeping out of it. I traced the lines and it looks like it's power steering lines, but I'm not too sure. The line runs parallel to the sway bar. Here's a pic: It has an illegible Ford part number on it but I can't find anything about this thing. Any help? Thanks!
  3. Is there any update to this, or anyone have a suggestion? Fuse is fine however the steering wheel and shifter are not lit up. I also believe the sunroof switch is not lit up. All controls work normally. Thanks!
  4. My Edge is now doing this exact thing. When I put it into reverse I get the "Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership" message. From searching around the net it seems to be a very rare issue as I've only seen it mentioned two or three times. My dealership said they don't know what the issue is but are quick to charge me $100 for an electrical inspection and then any parts and labour on top of it. I told them I'd dome back after doing some research. I'm out of warranty so I hope this doesn't hurt the pocket book too much.
  5. Hey guys, The kilometers are getting racked up on my 2011 Edge pretty quickly (already at 165,000km's/102,000miles) so I figured it was time to swap out the tranny fluid and coolant. 1) Does anybody have a procedure or tips for draining and filling the coolant? Is there a petcock on the rad to drain it out? How about filling? 2) Is the tranny fluid a drain and fill procedure? Does anybody have any tips with regards to that? Access to a shop manual would be excellent :p BTW it's a 2011 Edge 3.5 Front wheel drive. Thanks very much!
  6. It's a shame so many people are having the same problem as I did. Clearly there's an issue with the design of the switch. No amount of spraying contact cleaner or WD-40 into my switch did anything to help it so the only solution was to have it replaced. I bought the part from Ford and had a buddy of mine install it (He's a Ford tech). Hopefully the replacement lasts a bit longer than the original. Best of luck to those currently having issues.
  7. Any insight into this? Dealer wants to charge an arm and a leg for this, when I think it's really not that difficult... Other than this inner door panel :P
  8. Seriously? I mean, the bottom half was free as a bird, but up along the top it felt like something was holding it back, very well could be glue as it wasn't budging. There are 2 rubber plugs that you can remove, I thought for sure there would be a bolt or 2 back there but I couldn't see any even with a flash light. The main point that it felt connected was the top right corner. Does anyone have access to a shop manual? Thanks so much!
  9. Hey guys, in my adventure to fix a stuck "Door Ajar" light, I need to replace the latch in the door of my 2011 Edge, it's out of warranty due to the amount I drive. Does anybody have any tips on getting this black inner door panel off? This is a picture I found on the net I got the outter panel off without a problem but couldn't get this inner panel free. I removed all the bolts around the perimeter but it definitely felt like something was still holding on from the back. Any tips are appreciated :shades:
  10. Reposting this from the 2011 section to get some more views. Cheers! What's up everybody I've got a 2011 Limited and just recently the Door Ajar warning will not turn off despite closing the door with good force or opening and closing multiple times. It would appear the Door Ajar switch is stuck in the "door open" position. Does anybody have any info on where to find or access this switch? Dealer wants $500 for the repair! Unfortunately I'm out of warranty as I do quite a bit of driving for work. I've done some quick reading about this issue and found that the switch is part of the latch mechanism? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks so much! Ps. Here's the Edge enjoying some Summer fun.
