  1. I realized I never updated this thread. The final outcome was that the heater core was plugged solid on the drivers side. There was a grey sludge that could not be flushed out at all. it was like wet silly putty. The heater core was replaced at the dealers expense and everything was fine ever since.
  2. I have a 2008 Edge with the Gen1 Sync at version 1.3. I was just Quoted over $300 to get the system update. Syncmyride says I have an update to version 2.1 available and it is a dealer only update. has anyone else been quoted a price like this for the update? Are there other upgrades that are done as well? It just seems a little outrageous for a software update. Brad
  3. Well its going back to the dealer to have the dash ripped out and a blend door replaced. Goes in Monday. Also getting the coolant flushed at the same time due to looking dirty.
  4. Thats why you have a differential in the vehicle. Teh Diff makes up for differences in tire size and travel distance in corners. The issue will show up if you have a locking differential. When the diff locks the circumference difference will cause one or 2 of the tires to "skid" not perceptibly but they will wear faster. I am not sure if this would be the case on the edge awd. Also Front tires will always wear faster than the rear as they deal with the under steer built into the vehicle.
  5. I require all the diagrams and information related to hte automatic dual zone heating and air conditioning. I have an issue with the driver side blowing cold air only and need to see how to replace the blend doors in the box. It looks like the actuators are working fine. That would be awesome.
  6. I have looked through the forums and done some google searches and Have not found a satisfactory answer to my question. I recently purchased a 2008 Edge SEL and with the weather getting cooler I noticed that the heat does not work ONLY on the drivers side. I went to the dealer today and they say it is the valve on the airbox that diverts the air from hot to cold. Blend valve I guess is the term they use at ford. My question is how many valvs\es are on the air box on the 08 edge. When I look under the dash at the sides of the airbox I can see the actuators moving on both sides but no heat on the drivers side. I can only assume that the actual door is broken inside the box. The heater core is obviously OK as I do get heat on the passenger side. Also does anyone have a pdf copy of the heating and air conditioning section of the service manual? I will order a copy but it will take some time to get it.and I want to tackle this before the cold wether hits.
