Stan Bryant and Ford rep. Todd. Have you gone to You Tube and entered 'Edge high pitched whine'? This is the identical noise that I have and suspect a defective designed fuel pump. Go to 'you tube' and listen and let me know if this is the noise you hear. I want a resolution to this maddening sound like you do.

Thanks to Nathan 84 for his video. This is exactly the high pitched whine my 2008 mkx emits. After several 'no help' visits to Ford dealer and other mechanics I feel certain it is the fuel pump. Last week after a left turn the noise stopped for the day. Next morning it is whining to beat the band. If there hasn't been a redesign on the fuel pump, it will be a huge waste of time and money. Ford.... Lincoln......anyone...... is there a solution?

We have dealt with this high pitched whine on our 08 MKX. After much and many experts and visits it is believed to be the fuel pump. The whine abruptly stopped for while after a left turn!!! If there is not a redesign on the fuel pump what is the point?

Rusty Glowner, my 2008 mkx makes this high pitched whine. After much qualified advice they point me to a poorly designed fuel pump. Have you had an opportunity to check into it?

My 08 MKX still whines and has the high pitched noise, especially when cold. Has any modifications been made to the FOMOCO fuel pump? I'd put in a new one if it would fix the noise. Wonder if a NAPA brand pump is designed any different?

I put a stethascope on the fuel lines as I was under the car with it running, just whining away. Doesn't sound like it is coming from the fuel lines or the tank.

My 2008 MKX has the high pitch whine even at idle. Seems to be coming from near the front driver wheel well opening as I walk around the car with accessories off.

Yes, my 2008 MKX has this irritating whine even at idle with all accessories off. I don't have a subwoofer. It sounds more like from the driver wheel opening when you walk around the car.
