As of right now the Edge has 6500 Miles and is averaging 17.6-18.0 MPG city and about 26.5MPG on the hwy. A/C on and off w/ these numbers temps ranging from 70-85F. It's FWD, 100% stock.

I feel that the shifting strategy is very reasonable for this car. Given the engines powerband and the cars weight, close ratio short gears is whats needed for a engine with smaller displacement(3.5L) compared to the vehicle weight(4000lbs+). I have the 6cyl Escape with the old CD4E 4-Speed transmission, and I feel those gears are a little too tall for that engine and the vehicle. Lucky for me I have a 01, the 03+ got a 3.72 final drive and I got a 3.92. I've did some ECU tuning with shift strageys and torque converter lockup schedules on the Escape and I changed them considerabley from stock. The Edge seems reasonable, I may change a couple of things on it.

2WD, Completely Stock AVG Speed: 25MPH(All city) Temp:30-60F MPG: 17.2-17.8 Not bad IMO, like some folks said, may have to break in a little more to get better mileage. Lugging around 4000lbs+ and getting 17-18MPG in the city isn't that bad.

Everything worked out in the end for me.

I haven't had the vehicle long enough to even measure the fuel economy. What are you folks getting right now. Please list the following. Year(2007 for now, heh) 2WD or 4WD Outside Temp. AVG trip distance Driving conditions(city/freeway). Odometer mileage Anything you do that change the results such as driving style or vehicle modifcations.
