  1. Limited59, I took everything in a good natured way so no worries. My stepson had my truck for a few days and commented yesterday that his 03 extended cab F150 felt like a Ranger when he go in it. I am forever hitting my head on the door jamb of that Edge every time I get in it. We took the Edge to Columbus yesterday and its about 1 1/2 trip, it's a nice quiet, and comfortable ride. Tip for ya: Never go to a Cabela's on their opening weekend!
  2. Congratulations, always nice to see someone recognized for their effort and commitment.
  3. Edge is easy in parking lots, I'll give you that. Limited59, ever been in a Expy. Same interior as a F-150 and those things are cramped. I am use to a rather large superduty truck and to me Expy's do feel small and kinda cramped. I wasn't trying to be a smartass, it's all a matter of perception and what you are accustomed to. And every once in a while I do drive a Freightliner to and from work but I prefer my truck, easier to park
  4. I wanted my wife to get a X but she preferred the ride and sticker on the Edge. I wanted the X for the room and the winter snow and I still think she knows I want something small like a Expedition and she will just take it if it snows.
  5. We have the same problem here, want it or not. We had 10" to 12" of snow and I was passing a lot of cars stuck on the side streets when I went to work. Got worried about my wife in her Edge, called her and she said it went great in the snow. She said she was worried at first but was soon going around people stuck in the middle of the road.
  6. Sorry, I have been in the hospital a lot lately and haven't checked here. I'm still interested if you still have them.
  7. I was leaning towards a wheel bearing issue, at least as far as I can hear and feel. I spent a little over 20 years as a diesel tech on heavy equipment and do not hear so well now, so if I can hear it then its loud. Right now I'm dealing with 2 brand new hydraulic pumps and 1 has bad shaft splines, new parts bad right out of the box are nothing new and anymore it seems to be more the norm.
  8. Has anyone experienced or have knowledge of rear wheel bearing issues with a 2013 Edge. My wife complained about a brake noise and I went for a ride in it with her. She said it has just started doing it and it almost sounds like metal on metal on the rear pads but gets quieter slightly when you hit the brakes only to get louder when you release the brakes. There is no possible way its metal on metal as this car only has 1600 miles on it and from what I can feel and see the rotors are smooth.
  9. I'll take them. How do you want to do this?
  10. My wife's 13 Edge with less 1000 on the clock gets a little over 18 to and from work. Granny's pass her and it makes me crazy to ride with her but she gets decent mpg's. Town for us is a small town in western Ohio so its not bumper to bumper traffic like some places.

    New Edge

Thank you for the welcome, nice place here unlike most of the diesel forums. I told her it would do fine in the snow and she always makes me drive her around if its real bad anyway. I like the fact that gas is cheaper than diesel and its easy on gas, what's not to like there. And I certainly will not miss the 200 dollar oil changes (15 quarts of synthetic oil, oil filter and 2 fuel filters). That was more truck than she needed, I towed a couple of trailers with it but as a rule it was too nice for me to use (it was a lariat). I was a diesel tech for years and have been a welder/electrician for the last 7 years. I still do diesel work on the side and until this morning my truck was loaded down with 2 welders, a gang box, uni-strut, 3 spools of wire and a bunch of conduit, plus the cab is usually full of tools. I wish I could get 25 mpg's but no way its going to happen and I have to have a truck with a large payload capacity.

    New Edge

Well Edgie and Joe. She went from a black and gold 04 F-250 crewcab 4x4 lifted 6" riding on 35" Toyo Open County MT's on black 20" Rockstars with a very well built and custom tuned 6.0 diesel. But it was her choice and she likes it but she said she does miss the power but loves how much easier it is to park. I have only driven it twice and its ok but I'll stick to my truck, the fuel economy of the Edge will be nice on trips but I need a truck. My truck is a 99 F-350 supercab lifted 8" on 37" Goodyear MT's, 6 speed, Valair feramic clutch, and a healthy custom tuned 7.3 diesel. She looked at the Explorer and thats what I wanted her to get but she loves the black Edge and its hers so I told her to get what you want or you'll regret it. She was a little worried about not having 4x4 if it snows but I'm thinking of getting a Expedition to drive while I do some work to my truck so she knows she can drive that.
  13. Your lucky, my wife let me mod her truck but she wants her new edge left stock.

    New Edge

Hi. I've been lurking around here a few weeks now and thought I might as well make register and say hi. My wife sold her truck and picked up a new 2013 Edge SEL. She likes her Edge but is still missing the power she gave up but she will get use to it over time.
