We installed a factory navigation unit on a 2007 Ford Edge but the backlighting on the buttons around the screen does not work. We asked Ford and they said this is for safety reasons. I think that it is more of a safety risk for the buttons not to be lit up and that the installer did not want to be bothered. Otherwise, why would the buttons be lit up on the steering wheel? Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks for your help!
