  1. So i guess my real question to this is can the PCM itself cause this high load/low rpm misfire? Assuming i have been using real Motorcraft plugs and coils for the last 150k miles since i've owned this vehicle. 2 rounds of plugs and one round of coils and this problem has been the same for 150k miles.
  2. That link doesnt cover an 08 Edge but its been so long i cant recall. I didnt get them from ebay it seems according to my past purchases. Must have been RockAuto. They were in motorcraft boxes both times i did the plugs and also the coils were motorcraft.
  3. 100% OEM Motorcraft Plugs in both cases when i changed them before and more recently with the OEM coils. I only have a cheap code reader but like i said there are no codes and never has been except in the instance when i had the misfire caused by the bad injector which cleared when that was replaced. And then also replaced all others with OEM. I'd guess like you said its so intermittent that no codes presents itself.
  4. My 2008 has been doing this for almost 10years now but its so consistent that i'd like to actually fix it at some point. At low rpm when lugging the engine or basically cruising in O/D at any time or in any gear it will thump in the floorboard which is most certainly a misfire. The great thing is it never throws codes for it. Years ago i replaced the plugs around 100k which cured the heavy symptoms. Then at some point around 150-175 i replaced all 6 coils/plugs. Around 190k it actually threw a misfire code for a bad injector which i changed. At 195k i had all injectors replaced when i had my water pump job done as PM. Car has also had the OSS/TSS sensors done in the transmission. Basically at 218k this vehicle has had all of the items done that should cause this problem and still misfires religiously with no codes. Does the PCM itself actually control spark to the point where it would be the last item to change? I have never "fried" a coil that would have damaged it and the problem has continued throughout the last 120k miles of this thing's life despite all these parts being changed.
  5. We have a 2008 AWD SEL now that has 203k on it (still original water pump). Been through some PTU's, plugs/coils,bearings etc. We decided when the wife's Sorento ate a head gasket that the safe bet was to buy another N/A edge. They aren't the easiest thing to find since everyone went ecoboost but i bought a 2017 Titanium with 74k on it. Wife likes it. No issues for the first 1k so far. What i'm trying to figure out is what are the differences between my 08 and this 17 that i should be aware of? What am i watching for to fail? It has so much more electronic gadgetry going on with perimeter cameras and lane departure and electric motors in the column etc but im hoping i made a good choice here. It seems like drivetrain wise they are the same engine/trans/ptu etc? I didnt even get the foam engine cover off to inspect the thing yet (seemed like even that was a chore) and i will crawl under it to see if everything is laid out the same under there. Thanks for the info
  6. Well that didn't work. Registered there and downloaded the app onto a flash usb stick. Loaded about 20 contacts just to test it and then did the wizard to get it "prepared to install". Loaded up fine and ready. Put it in the car and it realizes there's a USB there but "no media". Please make sure files are copied to the root of the drive or that its installed correctly in the slot. This is the only thing on the drive and it was saved just as the app wanted it to be. Also tried the "push contacts" on the phone again but "Amazon MP3 has failed" comes up every time. Even if i disable it on the phone. There is something about this that is preventing the upload of the contacts i'm afraid.
  7. Had the Iphone4 working great in my 08 Edge and just got an S4 last week. I correctly uninstalled the Iphone and easily installed the S4. Only problem is it will simply not take my phonebook at all. I tried "pushing the contacts" and doing the autodownload and it doesn't work. I also verified to make sure the contacts weren't just on the Simcard and are on the HD of the phone like a youtube video suggested. I don't know much about either yet as this is only the second time i've put a phone on the sync. I have to use forums and youtube since i don't have a manual for the system. I also did a "clean pairing" like one video suggested which only did the same thing. Have the phone but can't talk into the system to dial a number. Thanks for the help
  8. Currently i have the 18" wheels on my 08. I am having a heck of a time searching sizes and offsets and hole sizes to see what i can swap. My Jeeps always had nice websites with the nicknames of the wheels and all the info. I'd love to have 20's but when we bought the Edge it came with brand new 18" tires on the rims so i'm going to stick with 18's. Looking for a 5 spoke chrome rim that will bolt on. Also i have no idea how TPMS sensors work or are affected from wheel to wheel. I see that the Mustang Bullit wheel comes factory in a chrome 18" and the offset looks close along with the center hole. Thanks for any info
