Hey thirdgen, did you have to replace the whole motor, or just the pot?

the potentiometer thing sounds promising. I'm pretty sure I have the settings stored in the memory location correctly, even using the doorlock keypad the seat goes to the correct location. but these mirrors have a mind of their own! passenger side goes out and up to the extreme point and drivers side goes out and down to the extreme points. Knowing a little about servo systems, I was hoping that the mirrors had just lost a "home" position that could be corrected easily.

Is there a homing procedure for the side mirrors? Whenever I press the 2 memory button for the seats/mirrors, the side mirrors go to some crazy position that's not even remotely close to where I had set them. I know I set the memory location right because the seat works perfectly every time. Only thing I can think of is maybe the home position has gotten skewed somehow. This is an 07 model edge if it helps.
