  1. no one said anything about being defective, i was simply stating things i didn't care for about the car. no need to get ur wizard robe all wrinkled and all. "most" of the cars I've owned in the past 20 years have pretty much had the option for the dome light switch, so this is new to me and a bit of an inconvenience. no big deal tho. cheers!
  2. its been almost a year since pd'ing the rims. including car washes, hand washes, rain storms, and typical horrible nyc winters (tons of snow storms/road salting), it still looks pretty good. i had to touch up the edges here and there, but its so easy to do and cheap as well. as long as you properly clean intended surface well before applying initial coat, they should last quite a bit. check cellbine's vid on how to properly do it. he's got it covered! (pun intended)
  3. i don't love my edge, nor do i hate it. i like certain things of the car, and i dislike certain things as well. for the price, its a bit of a let down. also, the dome light isn't my ONLY complaint of the car. i have a couple of issues with other things, not a huge deal. but again, i wish i was "in love" with the car, and I'm not. I'm getting something new soon enough, and ill either trade this one in, or i'll hand it down to the mrs., or one of my kids. they seem to like the car more than i do anyway! lol
  4. don't remember actual link. i googled "ford emblems" and a couple of ebay auctions popped up.
  5. Thanks guys. I didn't lower the ride height, it's all stock.
  6. but the solution creates another problem. i know i can easily remove the bulb...obviously. but if i do that, i won't have the front interior lights on at all, which is also an inconvenience. i want the light on when i want it on, and off when i want it off. not always on, or always off. thats where ford dropped the ball. they don't give you the option. so your solution...isnt quite a solution. who wants to fiddle with removing bulbs every time you want the light on or off. imagine you had to do that in your house, bedroom, bathroom, etc. removing bulbs are an inconvenience...period. not a solution in my eyes. a simple switch like all other cars would have been common sense and a simple remedy.
  7. The fact that you don't have the option to turn it off or on is the annoying part. I personally don't want the light on every time the door is opened. I should have the option.
  8. Ive been a Ford owner for over 15 years with 4 different models. The latest being a 2013 Edge Sport, and 2013 Explorer Sport. Since day one I've had nothing but problems with the sync/nav system. From freezing, to rebooting midway to my destination causing me to miss my exits and getting lost several times. I'm an avid mountain biker and snowboarder who searches for new destinations to ride. While following directions from my nav, several times it just froze and had to be rebooted. Meaning I literally had to pull over on the highway and pull a fuse and wait for it to reboot. Not fun, and very dangerous. Also when my iPhone or my iPod is plugged into the usb outlet, it always just freezes for no reason. And the cover art to my music is always a song behind which defeats the whole purpose of displaying the cover art. Just ridiculous. My wife's Explorer Sport with the same sync does the same crap! Until Ford does away with the whole sync system, I'll NEVER buy a Ford again. I'm already shopping for 2 new vehicles only after owning my edge and explorer for only 11 months! Just can't tolerate it anymore. All the service techs say is master reset it. Really!?! Everytime?!?! Frustrated beyond description. Bought both vehicles brand new and fully loaded, edge for me, explorer for my wife....both very disappointed! Unacceptable...
  9. i left the rims and tires on. just stuffed newspaper behind the rims to shield the brakes/rotors. real easy. once dry, easily peels off excess overspray on tires. theres a how-to video from cellbine on this forum. pretty in depth too. good luck!
  10. it was a separate option available thru ford factory that actually integrates with existing parking sensors. comes with entertainment/convenience package.
  11. tks bro. i only dipped the rims. the ford emblems are after market emblems that attach over the original ones with double sided tape.
  12. Ford's parking assist. Actually pretty useful when parking is tight, and when people are approaching ur car.
  13. 2013 Edge Sport AWD... (sorry for crappy phone pics) Added extras- Tinted windows, window rain guards, front bug deflector, wheel mud guards, rear 2" hitch, weathertech mats....and empty wallet!!
  14. The "pulling/veering" has slightly got better. Or should I say "occuring less". Maybe the tires have worn in a little, or maybe I've grown used to it a bit. Nevertheless, I've tried everything and anything, and at this point, it is what it is. I don't hate the car, but I haven't fallen in love with it either. I'm on the fence and undecided with my feelings towards the edge. It's growing on me though... There are things I really like about it, and there are things that bug me... nothing is perfect. Time will tell.
