My 2013 edge has started having a braking issue. When backing out of the drive I press on the brake pedal and the pedal is very hard with no brakes. Takes about 2-3 seconds and then everything works normal. The wife says this has happened at least once every day and once on the highway. It's almost like an old car with no vaccuum boost. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

The sync issue appears to be gone so maybe it was just doing the refresh thing. The PTU however is leaking again so I will have to schedule it to be looked at.

Have a 2013 Edge Limited with around 32K. Had the PTU changed probably about 4 months ago for a leak and now it appears to be leaking again. I've read this was a problem but the swap should hopefully fix it. Anyone elses have this issue? Also the sync has started going to a black screen for up to 10 minutes and then coming back on. 1st time it happened the wife said it had a routine maintenance check message or something to that effect. Second time, no message it just went off and then came back on. I'm starting to not like this vehicle.

I bought my edge used with several miles on it for it's year. It's a 2013 with 31K miles currently. Probably not a wise decision, but got a nice car for the wife for much less. Anyway, just curious on what others thoughts are on purchasing an extended warranty. Do these things have any kind of serious problems over time that would justify getting one? Thanks.

Just changed the oil the other day and noticed a leak coming from the PTU area. Took car to shop and they said it was the PTU leaking at some gasket. They changed out the entire assembly and reflashed the computer for the Advance trac light coming on. Car has 30k miles on it. Anyone else had this issue? Just curious. This is the first Ford I've owned and have to say in my case I am impressed with the dealer I went to. Everything was done no questions asked. Any other vehicles I've had, with a major issue like this they always seemed to want to weasel their way out of it.

The wife filled up last night on the way home and checked her mileage as she always does. It was only 19MPG, down from 22 approx. 1 week before. The only thing that's been done is an oil change and air filter change. I used the proper weight synthetic oil that's called for. Any thoughts or ideas on this? I also noticed a transmission leak when I was under there. Nothing serious but leaks don't typically get better.

I have searched everywhere I can think of on here to find this with no luck. Did the first oil change on the wifes 13 Edge. Found where the oil life left is shown but how do I reset it to 100%? The manual is not clear at all on this. Thanks.

Have had my 2013 edge for just over a month. Went for a cruise in the mountains yesterday and was on a steep winding road at a pretty high altitude. Had to use manual shifting a lot because of steepness, switchbacks, traffic, etc. Anyway, 3 times when parking in different scenic areas when I put the car in park the advance trac system requires service (or something close to that) light came on. Once we got out of the mountains and resumed normal driving the light hasn't come on since. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Just purchased a used 2013 Edge Limited. Pearl White. Traded a 2007 Nissan Murano for it. So far we love it and are still getting used to all the stuff. No nav system is the only negative but had a garmin in the old car so no big deal really. Anyway, looking forward to learning things on the site.
