  1. Thanks Guru. I will give the insurance company a call, but I've always been under the impression that in Florida, they only cover the Windshield. That would be nice if they cover the rest of the windows too. I was planning on using the Ford OEM glass, there are some parts of a vehicle that just really should be left OEM in my opinion.
  2. Thanks for the response. Over the last 15 years of cars I've owned, I've replaced a lot of other items in the doors, but never had to replace the glass itself. I doubt the cost of the repair will exceed my deductible, especially if I can do it for the cost of parts. However, that is mostly speculation right now for me, I was hoping maybe someone here could provide some more insight, as I haven't had a reason to tear into an Edge door until now. Is there a specific reason you wouldn't attempt it yourself? Is there some special tools required, some special procedures? I'd just like to know what is involved to replace an Edge drivers door window, before I decide wether to pay someone to do it versus doing it myself.
  3. I was driving down the road yesterday, and a lawn crew was mowing the median, as I drive by I hear this loud CRACK which scares the crap out of me and when I have a chance to figure out what caused the noise, I notice a nice large spiderweb looking crack in the middle of the glass on my drivers door. Does anyone have instructions/diagrams on how to go about replacing the glass?
