I have a 2011 edge Limited with 31,000 miles and have experienced similar problems for the first time this week. Twice the car stalled at low speeds and once going 60 miles per hour on the interstate where there was no place to pull over and get out of heavy traffic. Had to coast to a gradual stop with hazards on and pray the cars behind me were paying attention. The dealer's assessment is the throttle body is bad. Part is on back order so no Idea when I will get the car back and no offer of a loaner even though the car is under warranty. I will request one tomorrow. If anyone knows what the fix is or if they have suggested fixes that did not work please let me know. There seems to be varying experiences on fix and reliability after fix. Might be ready to go back to Hondas. No car is worth your life and it seems to me if this is an ongoing problem Ford should recall. What are they waiting for? Does someone have to die for them to deal with this? My three year old granddaughter was with me and I thank God the end result was not worse.

I own a 2011 Edge Limited and until this week have been very pleased with the car. On three occassions this week my Edge experienced a sudden loss of power. The first time I was pulling out of a parking lot and the car lost power. The wrench warning light came on and 1 warning showed in the information-it stated no key detected. I turned off the car and restarted it and it seemed fine. No warnings were shown so I assumed it was no big deal. The next time occurred just after getting gas. I was pulling onto a busy road and again, I had full loss of power. This time no warning indicators came up so I again started the car and all seemed fine. The final time occurred while I was traveling 60 miles per hour on the interstate in heavy traffic. Sudden loss of power and I had no safe place to pull over! I turned on flashers and had to let the car coast to a stop on the interstate, praying I would not be rear-ended. I again restarted the car, pulled over to the shoulder as soon as I could and then pulled out the owners manual to try to figure out what was going on. After the third time, the service engine soon warning light came on but there were still no warnings in the information settings. I continued driving the car to the next exit, called roadside assist and had the car towed to the nearest authorized dealer. I then came home and began looking for information online to try to understand what was wrong with the car. I found a site that highlghted several other owners' similar experiences. Most say when the dealerships look at ithe car they cannot find a problem and cannot do anything unless they can duplicate the issue. Some stated they were told it was the throttle body but no information as to whether or not that repair fixed the issue was provided. One stated the car was not repaired once the throttle body was identified as a problem. What I have found indicates that Ford is not acknowledging this as an issue and there is little support in fixing the problem. The dealership that has my car said it is the throttle body but they are on backorder and they have no idea when it will come in. No offer of a loaner car was made so I am currently without a vehicle for an unknown period of time. They told us we could come and pick the car up since it runs, but frankly, I don't trust the car and feel it is a danger. Ford needs to figure out this problem before someone loses their life. If there are any other owners out there who have experienced similar issues who could offer advice I would greatly appreciate it. I have lost confidence in this vehicle and am considering trading it in unless I can get some kind of guarantee that this problem can be fixed.
