I just checked and my radar detector does not turn off when I put the car in reverse. I tried it with headlights both on and off too.

I just finished a successful installation of an Escort 9500ix radar detector into my 2013 Edge. FYI, there are four wires to the auto dimming mirror, green (pin 1), black (pin 4), & two blue w/ white stripe (pins 2 & 9). The green wire is switched 12 volts (pin 1) & the black wire is ground (pin 4). I used the Blendmount BBE-2000 mirror mount and the Mirrortap MT-2009 9" wiring harness. I felt paranoid about how easily the Mirrortap pins would slip out of the mirror plug so I soldered them to the wires directly. That's all covered with the factory wiring mesh sleeve anyway. David

Hello, First post. Just bought a new ingot silver 2013 Edge Limited with 302A package, 20" wheels, & towing package today. Couldn't resist the factory rebate incentives of $3500 & dealer discount of $3593. List price of $42,860 went down to $35,767. The saleslady went over all the features but most of them are still Greek to me. She put an A4 navigation SD card in the slot & later when I went through the packaging in the glove box there was another A4 nav SD card. Did I mention that I like free stuff? David
