I replace the rear brakes I'm able to move the truck but now I think the noise was the ptu it sounds like something is broken in there

so i was going to the store today and about 50 feet from my house my edge stop it display a message saying break system failure for like a second and than went away and wouldn't go forward so I tried to back it up and noting, put it on neutral to try to push it and would not move i turn it off and back on i finally got it to move but real slow and making a terrible sound like metal grinding any help would be greatly appreciated ford edge 2007 AWD
