  1. Thanks, Omar302. I didn't plan on exceeding the max recommendations but I was afraid I was close enough to them to warrant caution.
  2. I'm waiting on delivery of my new 2014 Edge with tow package and researching my towing needs. I plan to tow a 17' Casita SD and a Class III hitch is recommended. A post from 2009 reported that the Curt hitch 13060 could be installed directly under the factory Class II hitch without modification. Today I see a hitch from Curt model C13067 recommended for the 2014 Edge. Has anyone here installed the c13067? The dry weight of my trailer is 2500 lbs. I just measured tongue weight at 326 lbs with full propane and half a tank of water. I assume the water in back reduced the tongue weight a bit. Anyway 326 lbs is too close to the class II max of 350. Any thoughts, comments or recommendations on the above will be greatly appreciated.
  3. If a class II hitch is rated for 3500 lbs why would one need to go to class III if their trailer is 2700 lbs? I know the hitch looks whimpy but if I keep the weight below 3500 lbs shouldn't it be fine? I know I'm replying to old posts but anyones thoughts are welcome? After further research I see the need. Just measured the tongue weight of my Casita 17' SD at 326 lbs. That's with full propane and half a tank of water. Emprty gray and black water. I assume a full water tank would decrease the tongue weight a bit. I can see that I would easily exceed the tongue weight when outfited for travel. :-(
  4. Hi NEM, I just joined the forum and my new 2014 Edge should be delivered in a couple of weeks. I plan on towing mine with my motor home too. I assume you've already towed yours. How did it work out for you? Any advice?
