Bought this 07 awd mkx at 88k miles 3 years ago and 122k miles now. 6 months ago it was lightly rear ended and ever since it's developing problem after problem. Right after the accident the transmission went out and I replaced it with a reman and went through the ptu and had to replace all of the trans mounts too. After the trans swap it developed a popping noise from the left front and a humming noise from the right rear. I figured the strut bearings are shot and the rear hub bearings are bad. I just got done replacing the strut bearings and the driver's was bad but it's still popping over bumps but it's not as bad as it was. I had it looked at,at a shop and they couldn't find anything wrong. Any ideas??

Awesome, thanks. Not sure if it's AWD or not, add just says 4x4 but looks like changing that seal isn't to big of a job if it is leaking. I am so so so glad it has a serviceable transmission...you want to do something really frustrating and messy and sure to piss you off to the point of insanity? Service a sealed "non serviceable" trans in a newer explorer lol.

New member here, I'm in West Jordan,UT Always loved the edge but never had one..well the head gaskets in my wife's explorer have gone out and rather then swapping a long block in it, we are just going to get a edge that we both want.. I know with the explorers they have that POS sealed tranny and head gasket problems ect.. Is there anything like that I need to be aware of with the edge? Apart from obvious stuff is there anything I need to look out for in terms of problems? We are currently looking at a 08 edge limited with 87k miles that's $14k Good deal? Thanks!
