I have the same problem. I have had many auto transmissions and never had one that moved so much after putting it into Park.

I bought a 2007 Ford Certified Edge from a dealer. Mine had 18,800 miles when purchased. I noticed a whine from day one. After a leak in transmission fluid developed at 21,000 miles, the dealer replaced the Power Take Off (PTO) unit. It stopped the leak, but not the whine.
