  1. I figured it was and comparing it to our 2004 Explorer XLT 4.0L we traded in for the Edge we are sipping gas. The Explorer was always maintained and stop and go traffic with my wife driving(light on the skinny pedal we got 17.5-20L/100km I am happy. We needed the AWD so ecoboost wasn't even in the option list for us. Oh ya GO HABS, I am a transplanted Montrealer actually Chomedey
  2. wow I just finished reading through this thread and I cannot believe how inexpensive oil changes are on the west coast and the US. I don't go to my Ford dealership except for warranty work. I have a 2008 Mustang Bullitt takes 5.7 Litres 5w20 like the 2014 edge we have. At the dealership they charge $109.99. I can get Penzoil or mobil one at Canadian Tire or parts source when on sale for $39-45 depending on the sale. I will change it my self but if the oil is due in winter I go to the 10minute penzoil change and they charge $34.99 to change the oil wit hmy oil and filter which works out to $75 or more. I wish we had a place around here that would do an oil change for the price you guys are paying. With my Bullitt I change it every 6 months or 8,000 km. With the edge I am going to rely on the on board computer, right now we have 3100km and change and the computer says 83% left so with the average at 4,000km per 20% oil wear it should last 20,000km? sounds a bit long of an interval but I will keep an eye on the level and would not go more than 10,000km or 6 months. A buddy of mine has a 2013 BMW 328 and his first oil change was at 16,000km dealer said thats normal? Wow I am old school and would always go 3 months or 5,000km. Time have changed but so have the prices and quality of the oil and engine.
  3. We also get about 13.8-14.3L/100km in city traffic. The 2014 Edge SEL AWD states city 11.8 on the window sticker or 24mpg (CDN) That is also marked on the 3.5L FWD window stickers, so I am making an assumption that the AWD system does drink slightly more fuel. We have gotten 8.8 on the hwy avg 115km/hr which is close to the 7.8L/100(36mpg). Mind you we were going 115 at 100km/hr I am sure the fuel economy would improve. We have just passed 3000 km so the engine is still very new. I suspect the stop and go traffic my wife drives in has alot to do with the fuel economy. I have a 2008 Bullitt modified with Ford HR CAMS long tube headers and a tune and I get 14.5L/100km in the city. Seems weird that I get better fuel economy with 380 hp on a 3600lb Mustang. I am hoping for improvement but it is what it is I guess.
  4. Well I am new to this site and was searching for a mileage thread. I have a 2014 Eddge SEL AWD with 3400 km yup we bought it 2 months ago it is rated at 11.1 city and 7.7 hwy I think I know our engine is just broken in may even need a few more km under the belt to see better mileage. We are getting 12.5-13.2 in all stop go traffic and hwy only we did get 8.9 these numbers blow away the old 2004 Explorer XLT so I am already happy. There are not to many responses on this thread so I am hoping to see more results from others. I know the window sticker mileage is perfect conditions but I would think this vehicle should get at least 12.5L/100 all city and I would think 8-8.7L/100 all hwy a combined that would be nice is 10-11.5L/100 would these be realistics numbers? By the way we Love the Edge ever since it came out, our Explorer died after 10.5 years (owed us nothing) so we jumped at the great pricing of the edge. it's my wife's vehicle I drive a 2008 Mustang Bullitt but have no problems driving the Edge it's quite nice. We have the appearance package White grill and 20 In Black/Brushed aluminum rims with push button start and auto liftgate. The sunroof takes up to much headroom and no interest in the Nav as we have a GARMIN. Bluetooth is awesome SD card holds all our music and the backup camera is my wife new favorite item on a vehicle. I know alot of this should go in the welcom area I figure I would add all this in this thread. Oh yeah we tinted the front windows to 23% to almost match the rear door tint but still keep the visibility relatively light.
