  1. Personally I would go for it. All it would take is one big failure to run up a bill of a few thousand. I bought the extended warranty when I bought my 09 MKX. So far I've used it twice and the total for replacing the brake booster and a failed vacuum line A (had to pull off all kinds of parts to reach it) would have cost a little over a grand. (Doesn't take much to run up a big bill on a modern SUV).

As for the $75 for exterior and exterior lighting, HID problems will blow through the $75 fast. That's an hour's labor. I would say it's a no brainer.

    Thanks for the input.

  2. Okay guys, so I purchased a used 2013 Edge Sport late last year. I am considering purchasing a Premium Care plan. Recently I found out I am out of warranty as the car was purchased early 2012. Ohh well. Lombarford Warrantys has told me I can still get the car covered since I guess there is a 4 month out of warranty period whereby Ford will still issue the same quote as if it had been in warranty IF my car passes an inspection, Basically $1550 for 100k miles. I am still a little under 36k miles. I know I can probably get a lower quote somewhere else, but Lombardford offers payment plans, which would be preferable.

Let me get to my question. The covered interior and exterior light option for about another 75 dollars. Is it worth it?

Thanks to any insight here. I'm basically considering the extended warranty because my car had been in a car accident from the previous owner. Car required body work and now looks brand new, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I had my EDGE examined thoroughly by a mechanic before I purchased it. Car checked out great on that inspection.

  3. You have the 22" wheels, right? You like the tread pattern on the Scorpions? Did you go with a different than OEM sized tire?

Yes, I have the 22's. I personally don't mind the thread pattern on the scorpions. They suit me just fine. What was of concern to me was the look from the outside as some tires seem to bulge out more than others if that makes any sense.

  4. lol...ohh man...and I've been wanting to remove the emblem. I prefer the clean slate look. Is this the emblem in the front or back? What if any marks or holes are behind the emblem if you could share.

  5. I have it for free for the next 3 months as I just bought the vehicle. I really like it to be honest. Sound quality is good. Will cut out every now and then under an underpass, but for the most has been good. No problems with volume. However as much as I like it, I think I'll stick with streaming pandora once my 3 months are up.

  6. I really liked the white when I was shopping around for a used 2013 with low mileage. Came across the black which met all my criteria and glad I went with the black instead. The sport wheel trim goes perfect with this color. Felt all the black and huge wheels were a bit much at first, but the car just looks clean and rides like a beast. Dirt and such doesn't show up very well with this color IMO, although being a new owner I'm inclined to always keeping it clean.

  7. So I just purchased a used 2013 Edge Sport less than a month ago. Had a very reputable mechanic come out and take a look at the car before I purchased it. Of course the problem did not appear when he was there, but it's appearing now. Love the car and it only has 24k miles so far, so going into the dealership to have them take a look at this problem while it's still under warranty. Thanks to this forum I feel relieved to know there is an answer out there.

  8. I saw an Edge Sport that had running boards that were invisible until you opened the door...they then electronically lowered to allow step in , then once the door closed they retracted out of site under the Edge.

I dont know who makes them but they are out there.......just not for me !

To me part of the appeal is the look of the running board on the edge apart from the function. I definitely would want to see it and not have it hidden. I don't know why it seems to sit soo high. From the outside it seems low to the ground. Once I'm in it, I feel like I'm towering over most traffic on the highway.

  9. Thanks guys. Hard to really tell how they will look on a sport but really appreciate the help. I'm trying to do something that will set mine apart from another one that is in my neighborhood. I didnt see an Edge Sport for months around where I live until I bought one and saw 3 in the first week. hahaha

This always seems to happen. You buy something new and different and all of a sudden they appear everywhere...arghhhh I'm curious as to whether you got the running boards installed. If so, how do they look?

  10. Just purchased a used 2013 sport and this was the first thing I noticed when I test drove it. I figured it was an allignment issue so still went forward with the purchase. They replaced two of the 22s since they had low thread. Supposedly they aligned all before I left the lot, but I still notice the pull to the right. It's subtle, but there. Even the steering wheel is not completly centered. Love the ride, but definitely would like to see what you guys are doing to fix this problem.
