  1. I've had this happen to me twice now. Vehicle was purchased in March 08. In August the traction control light came on in the middle of a dry highway, doing 100km/hr. In 10 seconds or less it the started blinking, phased the brakes like ABS, at different speeds, shimmying the vehicle, and brought the vehicle down to less than 60km/hr. The light then remained on at all times when driving. Took it to the local dealer when we got home, and it took a few weeks for them to fix the problem, a faulty stability control system computer. Then, last week, the light came on again by itself, and has remained on. It's now currently in the shop as I type, and I've been told they are calling a Ford Engineer to see what's happened. Not Impressed.
  2. I just finished our first fill up this morning at 465km on the odo, with the low fuel warning. Dropped in 65L of gas, my math says that's 14L/100Km. It's been about 80% city, but I'm fairly good at "hypermile-ing," which is what bbf is refering to. AFAIK that is fairly close to sticker. Not sure on what MPG that is though.
  3. The Canadian site may refer to the statement "17" front brakes" in the fact that they will clear a common 17" wheel, not the size of the rotors themselves. This is a common automotive practice I have been told. My father has been a mechanic, domestic and foreign, heavy duty etc. for over 25 years.
  4. The usual early spring snow storm hits Western Canada, after a period of near 20C heat, and the result is a landscape covered in nearly half a foot packed of the white stuff. Temp's outside are approx -10. It's still blowing out after 24 hours, and calling for 48 hours more of it. The local military base is even shutting down for the day after 2 hours of work. Alberta does not use salt on the roads, salt water freezes after -12C, so we get a mix of about 10% salt and 90% sand. In Edmonton, you're lucky if the plows have hit the streets in the first 24 hours. And they don't normally do residential areas at all. As a result, the main roads at this time are filled with crumbly snow pack or heavy drifts. I live in downtown, right on the river valley hill. In the new 08 Edge Limited AWD and just loving it. Point the wheel and give it some gas, it goes. The braking is very predictable as well, even with the 20"er's. Hits drifts and the crumble snow pack on the roads easily, the traction control and auto-AWD are invisible execpt for the results - turn and go. Very little slide at all. All the while maintaining 16L/100Km. I'll have to get some pics, this is just great!
  5. Has anyone had any "bulb-out" sensor issues with the LED lights in your Front or Rear markers?
  6. The fiance and myself, we're 25, a nurse and a Canadian soldier, living in Downtown. We just closed on a brand new Edge Limited this afternoon. She needed a new laptop, so we were down in the south end at Best Buy, and had to wait for them to install software. So we had been debating between a Mazda CX-7, Ford Escape, and Ford Edge. She liked the Escape, and the Mazda, while I liked the Edge. Team Ford was close, and we had time to kill, good way to do it was see what we liked better. The Edge won out the test drives, the feel was just so much better. Both of us like dark colours on cars, and they lined us up with an Indigo Ink with all the options we wanted. We made a good deal, got them to throw in a CompuSTAR 2 way security and remote start, protection package, all weather matts, and a wheel lock set, they took a nice amount off and gave me a very reasonable offer on my 03 Toyota Matrix Xr. It'll be missed. But now we have something better to drive! Delivery is on Wednesday night!
