  1. Do you need to pull the valve cover to replace the Variable Cam Timing Solenoid or is it accessible by removing the seal? I am sure it will be pretty obvious once I get the air intake and cover out of the way.
  2. Will do. Is the cam phaser replacement a potential DIY repair? Does it require pulling the engine? Looks like TSB 10-16-1 points to a potential cam phaser issue and a "newer" phaser P/N helps resolve the problem.
  3. Thanks for the tips. It looks like both the Camshaft Position Sensor and Variable Timing Solenoid are pretty accessible on the front of the head. I plan to swap these to narrow down the problem before letting the dealer tear apart the engine to replace valve timing phasors, etc.
  4. Edge Experts, I have good luck with the 2008 Edge w/ 70k miles until recently. Getting the Check Engine Light and DTCs for a valve and cam timing issues on bank 2 (P0018, P0021, and P0022). * Fist off, which side of the engine is Bank 2? * Should I go ahead and replace the Camshaft Position Sensor, Valve Timing Solenoid, or other external sensors to attempt an easy fix? I read a couple of the older threads about new vehicles getting an engine teardown and expensive repairs so looking for your advice.
