  1. Follow up: my mechanic tracked down a nice used driveshaft, and the vibration is gone. Cost me $400 total. He had removed the old one a few days ago and found a u joint had seized up
  2. Sad indeed. I'm guessing the cutting/rewelding needed to get to the bushing isn't worth it
  3. Took my technician for a ride now that it has new tires, he thinks it may be the driveshaft carrier bushings. I searched online and it seems to be fairly common actually. If it indeed is the problem, a new driveshaft is the only solution This post shows what I think my issue may be http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17690-drive-shaft/?p=129390
  4. The vibration is hard to pin point, can be felt everywhere pretty evenly
  5. Wheel/tires were balanced, but they did not align it. We had it up on a lift last week, and our mechanic gave us the OK in regards to brakes, suspension, etc
  6. Hi, we've enjoyed our 2008 Edge for the past 3 years, and so far its been pretty good to us. We bought the car at 85K miles, and it is now at 140K, and surprisingly we haven't run into the PTU leak in our 55K miles of ownership. Right now we are experiencing a vibration at around 20-30mph however. It is speed dependant, and happens whether accelerating or decelerating. Our mechanic recommended replacing the tires first, as they showed some cupping. Today we put new tires on, and the vibration is about 75% reduced..... but still present. Any thoughts on what to look at next?
