  1. Not to throw a wrench in the thread but I ordered seat covers for both my Ford Edge and Hyundai Elantra from exactseatcovers.com and I absolutely love them. I have the waterproof version on the rear seat and it has proven itself to be completely kid-proof for the last two years. The fit is so exact that it blew away my expecations. I don't have a clue how they compare to the covers from Cover King but I just wanted to give a shout-out to them. Plus, I'm always more comfortable ordering from a site that has photos.

  2. I think a unicorn would be cool. LOL. Just kiddin. Plain as jane is the way to be. Although I am going all blk on mine right now I may consider flat blk stripes kinda like the GT500. Big maybe though. LOL. But maybe on yours a blk grill and then starting the width of the gril and wideing just a bit all the wat to the windshield do blk in vinyl. Would be a cool blend as the roof is blk too. Dunno, Photoshop it, would like to see a pic.

A unicorn is a great idea! Or a Care Bear!

  3. Hi,

okay the opinions are quite in one direction.

    Thanks for all comments. :shades:

Have to say i am quite surprised that so many of you (til yet) would prefer the clean hood.

You have to know that i am quite unsure about that, too...well, you can see it with this poll.

But i have some further ideas to take that offer anyway.

How about some small subject only in the front drivers side corner of the hood?

Or on the fuel tank flap?

Do you have any other ideas to set some accents or would you all say:

"Do nothing and let all clean!" ...?

    Thanks so far

    Marc

Clean. I don't know how people can even put bumper stickers on their rigs, much less a sabertooth tiger.

  4. This is not something I'd specifically look for in a vehicle but I suppose it's nice to have. What I can't understand with the Toyota problems is why these people don't just turn off the key or put the car in Nuetral if the throttle gets stuck. These idiots that are careening into trees are probably the same people that "accidently" hit the gas when they meant to hit the brake (read: old people that shouldn't be driving).

  5. Must be an epidemic or poor design because mine rear wiper arm on my 07 MKX finally gave out going through the car wash yesterday. Having grown up trying to fix cars myself when you could do such a thing, I thought this should be simple. However, after having the same trouble as Stinger1519, I quickly surmised that it wasn't going to come off without a puller of some sort which I do not have one.

I also found it interesting in the owners manual that they say this design is supposed to reduce damage in a car wash, I don't think so.

Mine broke in a car wash the second day I owned it. Seems to be a pattern here.....

  6. Both Garmin and Tom Tom make good units. For God's sake, don't go near a Magellan, a Nextar, or some WalMart crap brand you've never heard of. All around best bang for the buck at the $200 range in the Garmin 255wt. Froogle.com it and you should find a good deal.

By the way, the 260 is discontinued and it's not widescreen so it's a bit more difficult to see. I've done a lot of homework on this.

  7. Just got it. (in fact within 24 hours of ordering it!!)

    Installed it. Very easy.

I love the looks and the way it fits the curve of the back bumper.

The lip of the protector appears to be rounded where the Edge bumper has an angled lip.

    No problem for me!

Thank you, igcitng, for your efforts in searching and then reporting back to us!

It fills my needs very well.

    cdbirch,

Would you mind snapping a closeup pic of the left and right sides? Sorry, I'm a perfectionist. So shoot me.

  8. IGCITNG,

Looking closely at those photos, it appears in the photo on the lower left (the left side angled view) that there is a gap where the protector wraps around the corner. How tightly does the bend in this protector align with the rear edge of the bumper?

  9. I have a 10' Edge... and I want to be able to open the driver side door farther. Any way I can do this? Maybe get some custom hinges off the internet...or would I be lucky enough to find a bolt-on? A guy at a body shop looked at it this week and said he wasn't sure it you could. On the stock hinges they have a part that sticks up so it catches. Also there is that black piece that stops the door. Has anyone ever done this or heard of someone doing this? If I could get just about 10-20 more degrees it would be perfect.

Thanks if anyone has advice on this!

Find a busy arterial and park along the edge. Wait for a car to approach and throw open door. Presto!
