Same problem as everyone else. Mine's a 2011 Edge. It was intermittent at first, and now permanent. I have to carry a battery booster with me so that I can jump start the car on a daily basis. It's my wife's car and I can't allow her to drive it. As others have expressed, it's a safety and security issue. If Ford doesn't recall, they will pay (when someone is carjacked, a kid opens the back door at high speed, of when someone backs over a kid because the dome lights blinded them). My question is this. If I go to the expense of replacing the latches (mine's driver's side front AND rear), will the new parts fail too or have they corrected the problem? Second, as I understand it, the latch for my vehicle (2011 Edge) is part number BT4Z-7821813-B for the front driver's side. Does anyone know the part number for the REAR driver's side door? Thanks in advance! This was our first Ford. It will likely be our last.
