The APIM is the MFT brain. You would have to pull that and send it to me along with the ACM.
Just email me direct....jason@fordpimods.com
Update:
I sent Jason my APIM and ACM modules at FordPImods.com and now have HD radio in my Edge. Since I live in the Seattle area, I mailed my modules to Jason via USPS Priority Express mail, it got there within 2 days, he completed the mod no problem and shipped it back to me all within 5 days start to finish! The HD radio ACM module (which is basically the CD Player/Reciever) I got for $130.00 from Ebay, and the mod from Jason was $90.00. A very affordable, yet awesome mod to have, if you live in a metro area with a lot of HD radio stations to choose from.
Thank you so much for the service that you provide Jason!

Not sure on the RDS...that is something I would have to test.
The ACM is the audio control module. If you are going to acquire one from the dealer be prepared to pay out the nose. It is the CD player, it contains the AM/FM radio, CD player and Sirius.
Don't forget you also have to get the APIM reprogammed which the dealer cant do.
Hi Jason.
Thank you for the info on this. I bought an HD Audio Control Module (CD player/receiver) on Ebay already, so I have that part covered. It was from a totaled out 2013 Edge. I tried it in my Edge, and everything works except like the fade/balance, and volume. What is an APIM, and what is your guestimate on the cost of the re-program?
Thanks again for your help.

I have figured out how to enable HD radio. It requires replacement of your ACM with an HD equipped ACM and then reprogramming of that ACM to match your vehicle along with programming the APIM to enable HD radio.
What is an ACM? Does it mean...Audio Control Module? If so, where is it located, and could I get one from my local dealership and have them install and reprogram it?? Thanks for the post.

Looks great. Does it have to be blue, I saw somewhere you can change the colors from the console screen. Just asking.
My SEL did not come with the ambient light option. So I did my own DIY ambient light mod. I chose blue leds as it is easy on the eyes at night, and is also dimmable through the dash controls. You can use whatever color leds you want, this is just my mod, not the Ford factory one.

This was a very simple install. I just removed the silver trim from the center console, it's just clipped in. Then removed 4 star screws from the center console, the one with the cup holders. I did have to move the shift lever to Neutral or Drive to unclip the center part of the console from the middle climate control console panel. Once that was unclipped I had easy access for the mod. Watch out for the wire to the shift indicator as it is kind of short.
Next I marked where the holes were to be drilled on the inside of the cupholders, about the 7:00 position. I used a uni-bit drill bit on my cordless drill and I think that the hole size was about a 1/4 inch or so, maybe a little bit bigger. I spliced into the LED light that lights up the tray cubby hole in the front of the console. You could also splice into the shift indicator light if you want. I then ran the LED strips through the opening on the sides of the console. They came as a 12 inch strip, but you can cut them to size, so it ended up about 8 inches when cut to size. I connected the 2 leds in the cupholder to the led strips, and then all of those wires to the positive, and negative wires to the led that lights up the tray on the forward side of the console. I used wire screws to hold the connection, and then used clear silicone glue to hold the leds in place in the cupholder. The total mod cost under $20!
Oh yeah...all of the leds are dimmable by the dash lights on the instrument panel...they also come on when the doors open. I hope this helps.
P.S. The leds in the cupholder, and led strips are from Oznium.com

I have a 2013 SEL with Sync/MFT, non Sony stereo. I have been trying to get HD radio for a while now, and found that the receiver is built in the CD player. So I found an OEM HD stereo/cd/mp3 player on Ebay from a totaled 2013 Edge. I noticed that it had the same plugs on the back as my Edge receiver. When I got it, I plugged it in and everything works, including picking up HD channels....except the volume!
Do I need to take it to the Ford dealer to have them unlock it, or type my vin number in to make it work? That's the question. There has to be a way to make it work, as what if your car got stolen and they took your receiver, you would have to get a new one and have them make it work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated on this topic.

I have a 2013 Edge SEL with Sync and MFT, non Sony system. My question is, did this stereo come with an amplifier, and if so where is it located. Thanks.

I want to put a line out converter for an amp in my suv, but for over two years I have not been able to find a reliable wiring diagram or print out. I have a 2011 Edge with MFT (no reverse camera) and the standard amp/speaker setup. Does anyone know the colours for the two front speaker wires?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but can you tell me where the amplifier is in your Edge? I have an 2013 SEL Edge with MFT and standard stereo.

Thanks for the info Mestguy. That sure sounds like a lot of work and money, especially since I don't know much about electronics! Might have to be happy with what I have.

For those of us who want HD radio in our Non HD radio Edge...I found out that the radio receiver is inside the CD player. So if you buy a CD player/radio receiver on Ebay from say an Edge Limited which comes with the nice sound system and HD radio will it work? That is the question???
I have a 2013 Ford Edge SEL with the Synch, My Ford Touch, with NAV setup but the FM radio is not HD capable. Is there anyway to get this capability without taking everything out and putting in a new unit? I can't seem to do a ebay auction copy and paste but was looking at auction number 311317586551 and this appears to be the Sony version that I know has HD radio built in. How compatible is this to my current setup as far as what I would need to replace if I tried to change out to this? Would I lose NAV? Thanks for any thoughts!
I am also curious about this mod. I also have a 2013 SEL with Sync and MFT. Is there any mod that we can do to get HD radio in our Edge? Can we get some kind of HD module that is plug and play that will work?

These are on my "to do" list. It seems like it would be an easy install. I can't stand the pogo stick!!

I love the color of your MKX!
My 09 MKX has a two-tone interior, camel over charcoal with ebony wood.
Is this what you're thinking of?

Yep! My Edge has the tan headliner, with black carpet, and black seats and door panels. Not what I wanted, I wanted the Med. Light Stone, and Sand interior. Oh well....what do ya do.

I'm new to the forum here, and just found this post...and all I can say is that Ford should be ashamed of themselves for putting hubcaps on such a nice vehicle that costs around $40,000 new. You mean for that price they could not come up with something more creative than plastic hubcaps on such an expensive vehicle. Thats like putting hubcaps on a Shelby Mustang!!!

I just installed my side molding yesterday. I got it from Bodysidemoldings.com, and the paint match looks perfect. I followed the instructions and was done just over 1 hour, so not bad.

Yes, I ended up sending my MFT brain box to http://www.fordpimod...m/hd-radio.html
via USPS express mail had it back within 5 days! All he does is re-programs your MFT brains and turns on the HD raido signal, simple as that! :-)
