This past saturday when pulling out of a parking lot the RPMs dropped and there was no throttle response at all. The dash displayed a poweretrain failure and the gold wrench at the bottom. I shut it off and restarted it. Everything was fine and it drove as normal for a couple miles before doing it again. This time there was no powertrain failure message but the check engine light did come on. It did this a few times before I could get to a safe place. I had it towed home. The code was p2111. The next day the battery was dead (original battery). I charged it and got it started. Later in the day it was dead again. I had the battery tested and it tested bad. After replacing the battery the codes were cleared and it runs and drives fine. I drove it in to work this morning and have had no issues. If the battery was failing could the low voltage situation cause the issues that I experienced? Any help or information would be appreciated.
