  1. Yes but purchasing the Edge in August got me the $3600 employee pricing plus another $4000 in incentives that I negotiated, plus trade in there is no way that I would get the same deal now that I got back in August.

The addition of Sync 3 would be a "nice to have" but won't get you that much more trade in value, especially if keeping the vehicle for ten years as I plan to do.

same here. I will no be able to negotiate the same discounts as I did in august. Plus another wait for 2016 to arrive , I'm done with waiting.

I'm trying to negotiate 2015 car with another manufacture, if I get comparable price and features , I will cancel Edge order in no time.

  2. You don't have to wait 3 months - if they can't give you the car you ordered in a reasonable amount of time you can get your money back.

I'm not so sure about this. There is legal agreement between dealership and a buyer and both parties must obey the contract.

What was the reason behind custom order? Dealerships still have plenty Edges in stock.

Nothing special really (hitch , 2nd row inflatable belts) - the dealership did not have them in stock at that time. I dropped by one dealership week ago (Toronto West) and they did not have any. I'll check more places tomorrow. If dealerships have plenty, as you say, how do they get them if everything on quality hold ? I don't get it.

  3. Not so good news. The vehicle is still in Oakville. I have now been told that maybe early January might be the delivery date, but I doubt it. I guess I'll have to see if I can cancel my order and look else where for a new vehicle. This is really depressing!

I have been told by dealership today that I should receive Edge by end of December, but I have little trust in what they're saying anymore. I have been calling Ford customer services for 2 month and finally received a call back from customer service manager . I found CSM was not very useful , no understanding and even arrogant , repeating what I already know by reading this forum. At one point CSM told me that possible reason for the delay is that assembly plant can't find a cargo truck to ship the car, at this point I lost interest in discussion.
Checked Agreement between me and dealership and there is clause "Delivery By Dealer" which says that if car is not delivered in 3 month the Agreement may be canceled by either party in writing. So I think this is a way to cancel the order and get deposit back.
I really did not want come down to this - like futures and the look of new Edge , hit all sweat spots , but > 4 month waiting is way too long with no end in sight.
  4. Has anyone that has a October 16th to approximately early November build date received their Edge yet?

I have been getting updates from the dealership but it still looks like late December into the early part of January is when I might see this vehicle that I ordered back in August.

Nope, still waiting. Ordered in August, Delivery Date Nov 3rd, Build date changed from October 19ish (dealership system) to Nov 3rd (Ford's ETIS site). I can't believe we're talking about early January now.

  5. I would assume more than a few hundred dollars as the maintenence plan covers all the wear parts that a warranty, or extended warranty won't cover like Brake pads, rotors, windsheild wiper blades, oil changes, transmission fluid changes, tire rotation, shocks, spark plugs....

I think it's good that Ford did this.

How long is FMPP ? Does it start when "bumper-to-bumper" ends ? Did you have to negotiate to get this warranty or Ford offered it voluntarily ?

  6. Not until Late December - if that's the case, you would be crazy not to cancel and reorder a 2016

I'm in the same boat, waiting since August. It would be nice to reorder 2016 but I'm afraid that would mean losing negotiated at dealership discounts (purchased during "Friends & Family" event). Meanwhile, re-started the search for the new car , whatever comes first.
  7. Can we get a second verification of this?

I have the same problem. Ordered 2015 Edge mid of August. According to Ford - car was built mid October and should have been delivered beginning of November. Deadline passed a week ago. The dealership does not have any information. The Ford does not know where the car is either when I called them last week. The dealership confirmed the "Quality Hold" today and no ETA. Very frustrating position to be in, especially that I need to rent and don't know for how long.

Does Ford owe me some explanation or clarification - I strongly believe so. What is very strange in all this is that I live not far from Oakville Assembly plant and see how new Edges being delivered on weekend.

  8. I finally got word back from the Ford dealership I placed my vehicle order from that our 2015 Ford Edge SEL has been pulled and is sitting in secondary inspection. The vehicle was built 3 weeks ago and has not been released for shipment yet. I was told that there would be a wait time of 8 weeks from time of order until delivery date. It has now been 13 weeks and no vehicle yet.

Hello CND_EDGE. How did you managed to escalate your search through Ford's customer service ? When I call Ford the only answer I get is "wait". Very frustrating

I'm with you on this - if new car is being fixed/patched to fix design flaws then I don't want it , but I accept delay due to extra quality check. i really want Ford to be more open about it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to cancel the order and get full deposit back from dealership ?

    Thanks

  9. Similar situation.

Ordered 2105 Edge on August 14th. Was given 4-6 weeks ETA by the dealer that day. Made a huge mistake by selling my old car thinking that new one is coming in few weeks. But 4 weeks passed and I received new ETA , 8 to 9 weeks, by the dealership. Called Ford Customer support 3 times, was told that ETA could be up to 10, then 12 and 16 weeks. At 10th week dealership's system showed ETA between Nov 3 and Nov 9. Nov 9th passed and no updates. Dealership does not where my order is. Called Ford yesterday and could not get a clear answer where the car is. They think its still in the factory and i need to relax and wait. The rep also told me that I can escalate my inquiry only after 30 days passed since last known ETA , which in my case would be Dec 9th.

Very strange situation. I understand this is complex manufacturing process and there could be delays, I accept this. But Ford must be transparent with their customers.

I have no choice but to try to get deposit back from the dealership and look somewhere else for the new car.
